The prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on a New Mexico movie set had been used by crew members offsite for fun, a new report claims.
The gun, which was fired by Alec Baldwin on the set of the movie “Rust,” may have even been loaded with live rounds when it was used for what was essentially target practice, TMZ reported.
Multiple sources connected to the production of the film told TMZ that the gun was fired at off-the-clock gatherings – which could explain how a live round found its way into the gun’s chamber.
Another source who was on set told the outlet that when cops arrived they found live ammo and blank rounds stored in the same area, where the fatal mix-up could have occurred.

You were right about not knowing much about guns.
Well, the armorer's union has come out and said they didn't have anyone working that set so she's not a member of the union. Also, union camera crews walked off set due to safety concerns.
We do know he was practicing his “quick draw”.
You say we know nothing but now you say we DO know this? Makes no sense. Those sources aren't any more or less reliable than those saying there was target practice during down times. You can't have it both ways.
One report states it was a Colt revolver but nothing more. Of course we don’t really know if even that’s accurate at this time either.
Full, semi-automatic revolver!?
Ban high capacity revolver clips now!!
Oh, I see. They can blame someone in that group for putting real bullets in the gun.
Not his fault, but we need..
More gun control!!!
I’ll bite. What did I mis-appropriate from the Nez Perce culture?
Not every comment made on FR is about you. You linked to a girl on Tic-Tok with a pierced nose like the Nez Perce Tribe were named for. The vacuous girl is the one guilty of cultural appropriation and every person like her.
An antique in poor condition maybe.
The modern reproductions in new condition are a lot more expensive.
Your 165 certainly was addressed to me, and I didn’t link to TikTok.
Check the narrative now. Careless is the new story. The smell gets worse and worse. A blank doesn’t look like a live round. Baldwin hired her... (after the couch?) History like that??? Hell hath no fury and she looks as stable as a two legged chair with one leg loose...............
I am starting to sense a rabbit in a pot.
He has been dumb all his life but this may just be his rubicon. $60 million net worth you say? He is no victim in this. That figure is going to go down a “teensy” bit and he might end up spending some time in jail.

So. Throw some green-eyed monster into the cauldron. Be hard to dismiss that. One of the chief motives for evil in the world.
Those people are hypocrites and deserve it.
But can you imagine being told you have an unloaded gun, and it turns out to have a live round and you kill somebody?
I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.

Years ago I saw a paperback book and burst out laughing.
ZANE GREY’S NEVADA.
The cover shows a cowboy pulling two Colt black powder pistols and blasting away!
They must have been semi-Auto pistols as the air is filled with ejected cases.

I was accusing the Alec Baldwin armorer girl of cultural appropriation.
Sarcastically, I presume. Apparently the Nez Perce...the name given to them by the imperialist French trappers...didn’t pierce their noses. And they certainly wouldn’t be the first or only people to have done it if they did.
Possibly. But does that mitigate her offense, or compound it? If she was completely ignorant of an armorer's duties, then the onus in is on whoever hired her. But if she knew better, but did not bother to follow the rules herself, much less require everyone else to do so, then she does not deserve a "break." Her break was getting hired to be the armorer, responsible for keeping cast and crew safe, on a multi million dollar Hollywood movie.

From what I read, announcing "cold gun" is not the proper protocol.
