Check out Facebook's warning that interest in food preservation might be a sign of extremism among those who are "becoming too prepared." This is what I call "War by Venn Diagram." Everyone knows folks who can/prep are conservatives. This is just a sneaky way to harass them.
Well, I suppose that that makes me a very dangerous woman!!
I fly my flag every chance that I get, I ride a motorcycle and can and otherwise preserve my own food. I consider myself in very good company along with many others that I know that do all of the same. Thing is, this is not new behaviour for me, I taught myself to can when I was only 17 years old.

Canning is an American tradition, all my aunts and sisters have at one time or another canned whatever the gardens and bushes yielded.

So, this would make the Agriculture Extension offices of the USDA fomenters of extremism, as they offer, in counties all over the country— instruction in canning, jelly/jam/preserve making. -— those nasty farmers MUST be stopped from self sufficiency, or anyone else. I have a liberal friend with two Priuses, one with an inverter so that she and her husband can run the fridge and TV in a power outage. Three bug-out bags, one in each car and bigger one in the house, two power stations to run small appliances and internet router, lots of canned corned beef because it lasts so long, and multiple packets of survival foods.
I’m sure there is more stuff as well. The lesson here, I suppose, is that some Prius drivers although liberal are dangerous extremists.

I’ve just spent the last 5 days making plum sauce, canning and preserving peaches, dehydrator working overtime with my garden squash. How EXTREME! I need an eye roll emoji.
Well if they weren’t friends, I’d say turn them in. We can’t have just conservatives on FB’s “Extremists List”.
