This video has been around for a while, but if you are considering taking a statin, it is important for you to know the background and research before you decide.

For whatever it's worth...and I'm inclined to think it's worth quite a lot...at the Harvard teaching hospital where I receive my care they put me on a statin telling me that the newest research says that some who were once thought not to need them now could benefit from them.

I’ll go ahead and tell Freepers, you take statins and you’re a moron. More drug company BS. The side effects are numerous and some are permanently debilitating.

On the chance they’re beneficial, I wish I could tolerate statins. After less than a week on them I went from feeling normal to having excruciating cramps and fatigue so extreme that I was barely able to walk across the room.

I had the dosage cut in half following leg pain. No difference in bloodwork.

I’m now on 80mg of Atorvastatin daily, and have the muscle pain side effects. My 2 Cardiologists and PCP (Primary Care Provider) of 26yrs, insist that I stay on it, for my CHF, 5 heart stents for bundle blockage. CBD Pro-Level 5 Pain Ointment helps assuage the L/S hip, thigh, knee and shin pain, so I can exercise once again.

Statins nullify the body's ability to make CoQ-10. The doctor/researcher who discovered this effect said that what the statins claim to do actually causes the problems they claim to alleviate.

Statins can cause damage to the heart muscle and also cause strokes.

I have had to go through 4 doctors to find one that is not constantly asking me about my decision to not take statins.

for those with heart disease, developing heart disease, and/or a genetic propensity for heart disease, one of the best supplements you can take is Vitamin K2 MK-7 ... lots of legitimate, published research that shows that this vitamin plays an essential role in keeping calcium in the bones and out of the tissues ...

Misled by the evidence??

Well ... were you following the science??

Seriously: some scientists just care about money from Big Pharma and they can mislead other scientists.

I’m sorry to hear that, and I hope you find relief. I think this video is aimed mainly at people who have not had a heart attack. The evidence might be different for those who already have heart problems. The studies have been so compromised that it’s hard to know the truth, but every person has to do what he thinks is best for him.

As others have said, you might want to take CoQ10 if your doctor approves. God bless.

A bowl of oatmeal three or four times a week keeps my cholesterol in check. Cut total cholesterol from 260 to 190, and LDL from 175 to 114. Recent carotid artery scan had me clean as a whistle, I am 66.

Thank you.

I do take CoQ10 daily, and have not yet had a heart attack or stroke. We’re in “prevention mode” since 2017, and I’ll just have to go along with it. I also am on Entresto, Pacerone and some other meds for heart, and Type 2 Diabetes onset, down from Type 1, also in 2017. Besides severe/acute pancreatitis, 15 operations, so many CT Scans and MRIs I can’t even count, it was a bad year, but I’m fighting all the way. I thank God every day, for another day.

Honestly, I don’t know how you cope with all that. I will definitely pray for you.

Yeah, that is the bad news about oatmeal....carbs. And in order for it to taste good for me I load it with raisins, and brown sugar, so I get even more. Oh well.....Still, I do not want to take a statin and fortunately my doc is ok with that.

Ask your doctor - "Show me a study that shows a difference in deaths between those that lowered cholesterol with statins and those that didn't"

Statins lower cholesterol. But lowering cholesterol without other lifestyle changes does not reduce your chance of dying.

Yes, people with higher cholesterol levels have higher rates of heart disease. No, taking statins does not reduce this risk.

Ask your doctor to show you the study.
