A recent parachuting accident in Washington left a Seattle man dead, according to KMAS.

A Facebook group called Kapowsin Skydivers said the man who died was 27-year-old Shaznee Riyal of Seattle. According to the Mason County Sheriff's Office, Riyal was jumping with Kapowsin Air Sports with a parachute in Shelton on April 11.

Chief Deputy Ryan Spurling said the skydiver performed a stunt too close to the ground, causing his body to slam "into the earth with great force." Officials said the impact killed Riyal.

The Federal Avian Administration is investigating the incident.

Riyal's family in Sri Lanka started a GoFundMe to support his family. The page said he was the "sole breadwinner" of his family, and this fatal jump was his 80th. As of Tuesday, April 20, the initiative has raised over $47,000.

Here's part of what was written about Riyal on the GoFundMe page:

Shaznee was known for three things: his sense of adventure, his ultra positivity, and his ability to make anyone, even a stranger, feel like a long-lost friend, in the same loving way he spoke my name after not seeing me for six months. He was a mountain biker, a hiker, a skydiver, a brilliant developer, a goofy friend, and a wonderful brother and son.

The words ‘stunt’ and ‘parachute’ tend to combine to form the phrase ‘serious injury or death’.

When skydiving becomes ‘boring’ and you have to start doing ‘stunts’ to get the buzz going... it’s time to find something else to do. Seriously.

Who dies in parachuting incidents? Experienced jumpers - who get bored with their experience and start getting sloppy or stupid.

Riyal's family in Sri Lanka started a GoFundMe to support his family.

They sure learned how to make more money off their son’s death.

And I’m guessing that they are already not the poor and impoverished in Sri Lanka.

Many jokes of a similar ilk made the rounds in Philly at the time.

Then there was another prominent media personality and his experiments with a gerbil. The jokes that followed that one were off the charts.

I believe the scientific term for that is “he went SPLAT”.

Maybe it’s just me, but the words “stunt” and “parachute” don’t belong in the same sentence.

Hmmmmm, the obit I saw mentioned he was a great brother and son, but not father. So since he did not have children to support, he was the sole support of the family in Sri Lanka?

Hook turn to close to the ground. One of the leading causes of skydiving accidents

Well... it IS Seattle
Shelton is about 80 miles from Seattle, is a small semi hick town where the citizens chased blm scumbags out at gunpoint last summer when they tried to crash a Trump rally. I was there.

Most jump sites have a 1,000 foot ceiling. Allows you enough time to deploy your secondary chute if there’s an issue. When I was jumping, I was required to have an Automatic Activation Device that would deploy my chute if I was in freefall and under 1,000 feet.

Students were required to be self aware of their altitude and wave off their instructor at 5,000 feet.

“... and this fatal jump was his 80th.”

In a lot of things, getting it right 79 out of 80 times is pretty good.
