I wanted to purchase a new saute pan to replace my old one. My cooking gear is very important to me, so I did a lot of research until I chose the pot I wanted. And then I found this very expensive pot ON SALE! Whoo-hoo! I tried to order the pot on Wayfair, only to find that other pot connoisseurs had beaten me to all available stock at that terrific sale price. I'd have to wait for the next shipment. That date kept changing, getting delayed. I did some searching and found the pot was also being sold at Target.com, online only, for the same sale price. But it was also out of stock. I signed up at both websites to be notified when it came in. So an hour ago, I received emails from both Target and Wayfair that the pot had come back in stock. I'd only had to wait about 6 weeks, that's all.
I was ecstatic, and went first to Target's website via the link in their email. I tried to put the pot into my cart, only to see a message appear: Sorry, this can't be shipped to your zip code. In a box below was the word Why? I clicked on the box containing Why? and the following appeared:
"We work hard to offer the same selection to all our guests, but some items have shipping restrictions based on zip code."
So now I am being discriminated against because of my zip code? I live in a decent neighborhood and I can't order something because of my zip code?
I'd like to hear from some FRiends whether they've had any experiences like this, whether with Target or another store. And I'm going to inquire of Maryland's state consumer advocate whether this is legal. I think Target is now off my list of stores to shop in.
Wayfair had no qualms about my zip code, although they were charging $4 more for the pot now that it's back in stock. Well worth it to get my pot shipped to MY zip code without prejudice.
I was watching a thrift store picker on youtube and one of the current trending items was used high end cooking pans. Who’da thunk it? Ha ha.
My Target has a notice on the restrooms door... 'These are only for the gender over 8 years old. Mother's with boys under 8 can be in it.' on the women's door....
perhaps its a pan that identifies as a pot
but do eggs stick to it ;-)
that’s about all I get concerned with.
Or retarded.
Never use copper pans. Horrible for your health. I forget exactly what poisonous substance they exude. Check Environmental Working Group. (EWG). They rank safety of cosmetics, local water supplies, veggies that need to be organic and those that don’t...
Buy a cheaper pot that you can actually obtain.
I can’t verify this, however, I have heard that the majority of the products sold at Wayfair are Chinese made crap. That’s why they have such good prices. Caveat emptor!!!!
They didn’t answer the question why.
Ohhh.. Paella...
All Clad is less expensive and its pots and pans are still made in the US.
This has happened to me several times on amazon.
I tried ordering a termiticide off-brand name the other day and was told it couldn’t be shipped to my zip code.
So I went with the brand-name on a hunch and wound up ordering it and getting it the next day.
No weirder than the asshats at Palmetto Arms refusing to sell ammunition to Montgomery County Maryland under the FALSE impression there is a ban on delivering same here. There isn’t. I even sent them a copy of the county attorney’s note to that effect.
Idiots. They’re everywhere.
Wait till you see food deliveries stop in certain zip codes.
No clue on your dilemma, but, I will NEVER patronize Wayfair.com after their crap they pulled on Trump when the border patrol needed beds for the overruns and Wayfair Mass HQ idiot employees refused to honor the orders or ship any beds to the border. Go Woke, go broke.
So confusing..
I do. My neighborhood Target is where the normal people shop. Walmart is a freakshow of dysfunction that sends my blood pressure through the roof.
I'm willing to pay a little more at Target to avoid Walmart's meth heads, panhandlers, and able-bodied young adults who've commandeered all the mobility scooters.
If this is such a problem for you that you post about it, you are pretty lucky.
Maybe it had its handle lopped off.
