Folks...it is becoming apparent that the Democrats are pursuing policies that are going to collapse our economy. They are also taking steps to make sure they never leave power. What is a person to do? We have the examples of Argentina and Venezuela clearly before us. Anyone have some helpful ideas? Ferfal of Argentina has a blog spot and wrote a book, but information from our situation here would be helpful.

In re to the “can’t eat gold” thing.
It seems that folks are conflating disparate economic disasters. If we experience another Great Depression and gold is still legal, I would think that it would prove to have been a fantastic investment. Bread would still be available.
If it is an EOTWAWKI type of event where bread is not available, then not so much.
Am I wrong?
But if true hyperinflation, no one would have enough inflated dollars to pay for your inflated rent.
Gold, silver, storage food, ammunition, guns, repair parts for everything you can think of, oil and filters for your cars, anything you can predict that you’ll need, when you can’t afford to buy them later at hyperinflated prices.
I’ve been thinking about this myself. What to invest in and grow money versus a market crash. Not sure what to do. I have a sizable MM savings account and will inherent some stocks as well as 4 annuities.
I believe your last statement is one of the most meaningful suggestion, and deserved special emphasis.

Anticipate problems before they stare you in the face, and you have to emotionally react!
If you expect regional violence, join a gun club and develop friendships now, and use their skills and knowledge, and prepare for barter.
If you expect food shortage, join a local fresh food club or develop a relationship with local farmers, or gardeners in your area; know your grocer who can adivse of incoming shipments.
If you expect taxation issues, develop a relationship with several CPAs or accountants in your area; use their knowledge as to proposed tax changes.

That applies to gold, silver, fiat money, diamonds, land, etc. -- the government finds a way to get it all. Here's what God says, but few will listen:

Matthew 6:20 "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.
Wanted to see what folks would say. If you try to cross a border with anything of value, some government/group will take it away from you and perhaps your life also. The only real solution is to change the government here, first by living correctly according to God's Word and then perhaps the hard way, which will exact a HUGE cost of lives. The passage above had the best idea.

I’ve been hearing that, too. We know a lot of people in the Trades, and Beau is a retired Electrician and Plumber who is constantly being asked to take small jobs by past employers. Labor is short, too.
