This has been a hell of a day.
It’s bed time but I just want to comment. What I have to comment cannot be covered searching thru a bunch of disparate threads.
Maybe I’ll be banned for my opinions, as I’ve been banned on NextDoor and threatened on Facebook by liberals. I’m sure I’ll be pilloried regardless. But I’m used to being pilloried by liberals where I live because conservatives like me are rare. So what the hell. I’m accused of being an evil Repub by liberals and a Dem saboteur by FR conservatives. Can’t win.
As if these last few months have not been bad enough (our whole family had COVID prior to Christmas) with personal issues and the uproar of the election, this day I despair even more.
I have gotten to see some of what has actually happened, rather than just words. Jury is still out but I’ve seen enough.
1). There may have been many who just plain walked into the Capitol. But there was TOO MUCH actual vandalism (breaking doors and windows) and other violent behavior to EXCUSE THIS. Granted, maybe some were fakirs from the left trying to sabotage, but I doubt all of it. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS DESTRUCTION. WE WERE BETTER THAN THEY. THIS IS JUST MORE FODDER FOR THE COMMIES.
2). While I saw what happened, the hypocrisy over handling this 1 actual incident vs all the NUMEROUS RIOTS continuous over the last 6 months as well as in the past - ALWAYS leftists breaking into riots - is obnoxious. No asking the “protest” side what they think, or showing them sympathetically, unlike BLM On the news. Our new mayor in Baltimore told us “THIS IS WHAT WHITE SUPREMACY LOOKS LIKE”...bastard. What about all your black racists rioting endlessly?
3). Trump is not the one. What I heard of his trying to calm it was weak, he wasn’t into it, it was insincere. He was not forceful on people obviously going too far. The man is not Reagan, at all. If he were, there would have been a true landslide (not the fantasy landslide some imagine) and there would be none of this in question. And he himself probably would be calling the dogs on them. Trump is not the end-all be-all, and not the hill to die on. I see far too much kingly devotion to him rather than the USA. Do not confuse them.
PS: Sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear about your mother in law....sending up prayers for you and your family.
The weight is on you.
Let some time go by.
i have my plan in place for Covid but boy have I had to jump through some hoops to get it..and it may not even work.
May your mother in law rest in peace
History is very clear on one point—the day of important events if the _worst_ time to try to analyze them. ;-)
Agree, but this has been bulding for years.Trump did need to be tougher.
That is the mark of Antifa, who already made it plain in advance that they were going to dress up in what they believed Trump supporters looked like (stereotypically) and do stuff like this. And of course, any vandalism is too much.
There may have been many who just plain walked into the Capitol. But there was TOO MUCH actual vandalism (breaking doors and windows) and other violent behavior to EXCUSE THIS …
Sorry to hear about your MiL. I hoped you would have more time with her.
Correct. That big moron pretending to be a Viking or whatever has been identified as an Antifa agitator. Patriots for Trump did not cause any violence today.
This is so very true...even in your own personal life.
In my day, it was step away from the phone...then email.
these days it is step away from the instant message and give yourself some time before you hit send.
You've documented all the fraud, calculated the changes and come up with what the final totals would have been?
Show your work, else your comment is fantasy.
Sorry for your loss.
The rest is largely bull excrement.
Trump was all alone, a few pretended to be his friends, but we saw their true colors today.
You say he was weak, I say he was outnumbered. Now we all know we have no friends in Washington DC, and frankly, I doubt we ever did since Reagan left, until Trump came along.
Good point...I’m keeping a sporadic diary...having read my husband’s grandmother’s 100 yr old diary last year I think in 100 years my progeny MAY learn something from the political stuff I write now...trying to not be tear jerking but nonsensical in my writing (which is why your post caught my eye.
Everyone here is analyzing them. Not just me. My frustration over everything needs a vent and trying to find all the right threads doesn’t cut it.
This “important event” is much closer to the horrific French Revolution than to the great AmRevWar, BTW. If we want another analysis. Too many refer to our RevWar but all I see of the last year is French Revolution, at best.
So sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear about your Mother-In-Law. Prayers for you, your wife, and your family.
Today was the Storming of the Bastille.
Sorry for your loss. DC was definitely the work of the left in disguise. If I ever decide “it’s time” ... well, I won’t be breaking doors and glass and such. Semi-random acts of destruction are the hallmark of the left.
