Boar's Head Cheese No Longer Melts and Customers Are Not Happy.

If you recently bought some American cheese and noticed something wrong, you're not alone.

I'm a big Boar's Head fan. Almost every day I have their Ovengold Turkey for lunch. And when it comes to cheese, nothing beats their mild provolone or white American. Recently, however, I was disappointed to find out that there's something different about the American cheese I purchased, and I'm not alone.

Last week, my wife was making her signature scrambled eggs and cheese using Boar's Head whole milk white American cheese when we noticed something strange. Parts of the cheese weren't' melting. No matter how long the cheese was in the pan, it remained hard. The same thing happened the next day with a grilled cheese sandwich. After heating the sandwich as usual, the corners of the cheese were still pointy and hard.

We assumed the deli worker mistakenly sliced the wrong cheese for us, so I threw it out and picked up another pound. But we were surprised to find out that the same thing was happening. Is it possible Boar's Head has quietly changed their recipe? Or could this some sort of manufacturing error?

So, did boars head do something to keep it firm since the glowbull warming specter is looming on the horizon? Did the mix in some viagra?

Is that stuff made in Chyna? Sounds like something they’d concoct for other humans to consume.

First problem is that the author eats American Cheese. There are so many other real cheeses to eat, why go for an oil based processed product?

Based on the video I see a whole new market opening up for them: they can make the heat shielding tiles for the space shuttle out of that cheese.

Yep...
Add too much sawdust to the mix and strange things can happen...

Best description I've ever heard of American cheese is that it is a weak cheddar that has been processed to the point that its soul has been removed. And then it is individually wrapped its own little transparent shroud.

If I want something similar, I'll spend a little extra and get mild cheddar instead.

Processed cheese does not melt. Check the ingredients and see if you don’t have some imitation processed cheese food type of product.

This isn’t the Kraft style pasteurized processes cheese food. American cheese can be true cheese, but you have to get it at the deli counter. There are also choices better than Boar’s Head.
