November 22, 1963
I “was still inside my dad”, as he and my mother-to-be were riding around the nation on his Indian motorcycle!
Nah, it doesn’t bother me...It has turned out pretty funny...Probably got more responses than if I had gotten the year right...LOL
Third grade Catholic school in rural midwest. A student who went home for lunch heard the news, then later it was announced over the intercom.
More importantly, Dems swept the next election winning the White House and super majorities in both houses, then didn’t let a crisis go to waste. They muscled through great society big government scams like a knife through butter.
Our nation became a welfare state as a result of JFKs assignation.
It’s 2038? How did the 2020 election turn out, I missed it.
Thank you, Blackbeard....
It’s 2038 already??? Damn, I should have retired by now!
Had a nice long nap, did you???LOL
LOL! I wasn’t even born.
75 years ago my mother was still in grade school.
Mine fooled around in 1966. Then they had to make me legit prior to my birth by getting married!
My father told me that he was in his Senior year at Essex Catholic High School in Newark, NJ, at the time one of the largest schools in the state (all boys to boot). He was in religion class when one of the IC Brothers opened the door ran into the room and said “the President has been shot!” My dad told me, however, that he personally had a bigger shock when Oswald was shot while in police custody.
My mother is one of the few people who doesn’t have clear memories of where she was when it was announced. She does remember female neighbors crying. I find it amazing that anyone would cry over the death of a president.
Nah, leave it! More fun this way.
I was curious what was going on on 22 Nov 1945. Same thing that is going on now:

“Hey, maybe you were in my class since that’s where I was 57 years ago…”
Massapequa High - LI, NY
...in the year 2525
57 or 75 years ago? Pulling out gray hair.
Well, it wasn’t ‘75 years ago’; but they announced what had happened, closed school and sent us home early. It was a very grey day, and a little kid felt as if they’d fallen into an alternate universe.
Sort of like the past couple of weeks.
I’m 62. Here’s a sobering thought. I’ve been alive in eight decades. Well, assuming I make it to New Years’ to be precise. Thanks for making me feel like the old fart I am.
