New research into the minds of crows has revealed a jaw-dropping finding: the canny corvids aren't just clever - they also possess a form of consciousness, able to be consciously aware of the world around them in the present. In other words, they have subjective experiences.

it sure seems that they do- reports of crows taking walnuts and flying to busy streets, dropping them on the streets, then waiting for cars to crack the walnuts for them-
They can also remember specific people, the way they dress- years later- they know which folks present a risk , and which ones don’t- they remember years later which folks would feed them- and gather around when they see the people even years later- after an absence- according to some reports on crows

"This means primary consciousness could be far more common across birds and mammals than we've realised."So claiming biden has a "bird brain" would constitute a compliment.

“Our results, however, conclusively show that nerve cells at higher processing levels of the crow’s brain are influenced by subjective experience, or more precisely produce subjective experiences.”
That is an odd definition of consciousness. I think I could program a computer to do the same thing.

Sit outside in middle of the night with your dog or cat. Watch them. Closely. They see, hear, smell unidentified way before you do. I carry my gun in my robe. Just sayin’....coyotes and such near...you can hear them most nights.
