Omaha Police were called to the Krispy Kreme off 72nd & Dodge streets on Thursday night after a man robbed the doughnut shop at knifepoint.
Kelly Hoaglin, 49, was booked into Douglas County Corrections to face charges of robbery, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.
At 8:32 p.m., OPD responded to store, where employees told the officers a bald man in a blue hoodie and jeans had entered the store, brandished a knife, and demanded money. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash," the man fled on foot.
Following a brief search, a University of Nebraska-Omaha Police sergeant found a man fitting the employees' description near 67th and Dodge streets and turned the man over to OPD detectives.
The city police called off the search when they learned the donuts were safe.
Stupid! Cops will always protect the donut shop
I bet officers were in route before the call even came in! LOL!!! Seriously though, how much cash could a donut shop have?? And thanks to all officers who are fighting through these crazy times!
Eventually, rob enough Krispy Kreme places, and you can't make a getaway.
He should have known that you never hijack a donut shop, nothing will steel the resolve of cops like that.
It’s like stealing the Ark from the Temple of Solomon and expecting to get away with it.
A bald man?
Really?
I thought we were over the old bigotry of bald guys stealing donuts.
Next, well be reading stories about dark haired people eating leprechauns.
When will we end donut trafficking?
The cops will be back to inspect the “crime scene” and check out the “evidence” several more times each day, or as long as the “evidence” remains on hand for them to “inspect.” :-)
It’s like holding up a gun dealer.
Thats a valid point. Woe to the BLM thug who mess which the po pos
donuts! In fact, I cant recall one example of a torched Dunkin Donuts.
An extra charge for not taking a delicious doughnut!
And that’s just the icing on the cake. I suspect this story is sprinkled with holes.
If he ate one of those nasty-assed things, they should let him off with time served.
I didn’t know Gov. Christie lost his hair.
An ex-con. Whodathunk. Stupid enough to knock over a doughnut shop. LOL.
They could use the powdered donuts for his fingerprints...
Your going in circles. And stop putting yeast into your narrative. And no, I wont sugar coat my opinion.
Robbing donut shops is not a good way to get on the “good” side of any local police department. Talk about poking the bear!
