” If we go above the Arctic Circle - we have the ‘Land of the Midnight sun’ - where the sun never sets for some part of the summer.”

Then why doesn’t this happen at the south pole, or Antarctica? Is it because the earth is really flat, or because it’s actually much larger than previously thought?

And why have all the flat earth videos been scrubbed (all the evidence) from youtube? (Like someone’s emails)Things that make you go hmmm...

Thanks all, and sorry all, I really didn't notice the acute paranoia, the way I read it was, the motion of the Earth generates the season and the angle of the Sun on any given point of the Earth's surface varies every day throughout the year. That article is some goofy effin' crap. OTOH, the magnetic pole shift is real, oh, and we live on a flat Earth. /rimshot

If the earth were flat, cats would have pushed everything off the edge!!!

Then why can you see the skyline of Chicago from across the lake? Shouldn’t be possible.
And that really long bridge near New Orleans. No curvature.
It’s just weird, is what I’m saying.

Or not.

There has been no rapid shift in the axial tilt. Currently it is not much different than the 23d 26’ 22” (23.4394 degrees) north of the Equator posted on February 27, 2019.

...and we live on a flat Earth.

I asked a flat-earther if their movement was some small, fringe group out in Appalachia or something. He vehemently assured me they have chapters all over the globe.

After further reading, that website is hilarious! Put together by someone with no understanding of astronomy, geometry, or logic.

If I’m north of the Arctic circle the sun never sets in late Spring and early Summer. On the first day it dips briefly below the horizon, it is being blocked from view by the North Pole, which is BY DEFINITION North of the observer.

In other words, the Sun sets there in the North in early Summer. Shift a few miles South, and the Sun sets North by Northwest. Further South, it sets Northwest. Still further South it sets more towards the West, until I reach the Equator, where the sun ALWAYS sets due West.

The genius who wrote the website thinks that’s impossible, because he has no freaking clue what he is talking about, and is incapable of thinking rationally.

I hope that idiot isn’t you. Thanks for the laughs.

I think that your article has it backward, the tropics of cancer and capricorn are currently moving towards the equator (Slowly...At some point they will begin to move back.)

If you want to argue it take it up with the Washington State University Astronomy department. Yes. it will affect weather. (See link about the “Green” Sahara.)

http://astro.wsu.edu/worthey/astro/html/lec-precession.html

“The phenomenon we call “precession” was discovered by Greek astronomer Hipparchus when he compared his own circa 200 BC records with older charts. What he saw was that the equinoxes in his day (where the sun’s path crosses the celestial equator) were in a different position among the stars than the 150-year-old comparison charts showed. This is due to a gyroscopic wobble of earth’s spin axis that takes 26000 years to complete.”

In this wobble motion, the tilt of the earth stays roughly constant at 23.4 degrees but the orientation is always changing.”

Snip...”The most startling consequence of this is that the tropics (the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, where the most northerly or southerly vertical rays of the sun strike) are MOVING TOWARD THE EQUATOR. The rate is more than 14 meters per year! Example: the government of Taiwan erected a monument in a park marking the tropic in 1908. The actual tropic is now more than a kilometer south of this location! The arctic circles are likewise travelling toward their respective poles. The temperate zones gain 1550 square kilometers of territory every year!”

Changes of that magnitude would have been noticed and mentioned before this.

Is there another more reliable source for this theory? Something people have actually heard of?

There is always a tip of the hat to the Mariner that convinced OTHERS to leave their tiny seaside village and venture ‘off the edge’.

The first person to do ANYTHING that no one else had knowingly done before (That is why they are called the first).

Don’t forget the aliens from the 1950s that landed here will have a great shock when they return.

For example....

If you were an alien and saw a person walking a dog, dog takes a dump and the person holding the dogs leash cleans it up.

Who would a normal alien think is in charge? AND the earlier ones would have noted the two legged ones were in ‘charge’.

Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes...

The alignment of the sun with Stonehenge at sunrise on June 20, 2020 would have shown any changes. It was live streamed, but alas, it was a cloudy morning.
