SOUTH ROCKWOOD, Mich. (CNN) — When most can’t manage to get a $20 return on a scratch off, one Michigan man walked away with $4 million … TWICE!!

“You don’t think you’ll win millions once, and you definitely never think it would happen twice,” said Mark Clark, of South Rockwood, Michigan, after his latest win this month.

“It’s hard to put into words exactly what I am feeling.”

Clark is 50. His good luck story begins three years ago.

At the time, he delivered fuel to a gas station in Hudson, Michigan. He bought an instant game lottery ticket and scratched off the bar code. The ticket said to see the clerk — and so he did.

I won 5000 once on a scratch-off. And it only cost me about 15,000 through the years :-).. I’m a shrewd investor!

And he’ll still be broke by the time he’s retirement age.

Especially if he just keeps the big checks instead of cashing them. :-)

This is proof that man evolved from rocks, because the odds of that happening are about the same.

I have a feeling that even after paying back the kickbacks to his friends on the commission, he’ll still have a lot of money.

Exactly.Studying the history of big jackpot winners shows that most of them wind up in bankruptcy court with a few years of having won.

LOL! Great story.

He sounds like he’s got a good head and good heart, so he’ll be ok.

Not really all that unbelievable. There was a guy in Rome, New York who was struck twice by lightning in a park off North James Street. He survived both times. But as they say the third time is the charm. He was struck by lightning a third time in the same park and was killed.

They end of worst than bankrupt. Many of them end up in prison, or have attempts made on their lives and their families, if they have any left.

The first rule of winning any substantial lottery winning, or any big windfall for that matter, is to remain as anonymous as possible, EVEN TO YOUR OWN FAMILY. You have no idea what monsters money makes of most people, even the supposedly nice ones.

This guy just make himself a prime target, for greedy relatives, lawsuits, and his own greed.

If I won even just One Million, I wouldn’t tell anybody.
Not even where I bank.
I use several banks right now. None of them know the total sum of my savings. They don’t have the Need To Know.

Just to share the joy, I might tell some close family that I won ‘something’,
the amount? ‘Oh, a little over $100. Dollars, and that’s before taxes! Ha ha!”

When people think they have found an easy source for a lot of free money, most people are changed. Deeply changed.
Sometimes just temporarily. I happened to me, before I stopped and checked my own behavior.

They want some of that ‘free money’ too, dammit!
“I thought we were friends! I’m not good enough for your friendship anymore, now that you’re rich. Is that it? I don’t know why I’m surprised.”
