Some people are just too lucky...
I won 5000 once on a scratch-off. And it only cost me about 15,000 through the years :-).. I’m a shrewd investor!
And hell still be broke by the time hes retirement age.
Where’s your mask!?
This is proof that man evolved from rocks, because the odds of that happening are about the same.
I have a feeling that even after paying back the kickbacks to his friends on the commission, he’ll still have a lot of money.
Fat White Guy With $8 Million?
Instant Chick Magnet! ;)
LOL! Great story.
He sounds like he’s got a good head and good heart, so he’ll be ok.
Not really all that unbelievable. There was a guy in Rome, New York who was struck twice by lightning in a park off North James Street. He survived both times. But as they say the third time is the charm. He was struck by lightning a third time in the same park and was killed.
The first rule of winning any substantial lottery winning, or any big windfall for that matter, is to remain as anonymous as possible, EVEN TO YOUR OWN FAMILY. You have no idea what monsters money makes of most people, even the supposedly nice ones.
This guy just make himself a prime target, for greedy relatives, lawsuits, and his own greed.
If I won even just One Million, I wouldn’t tell anybody.
Not even where I bank.
I use several banks right now. None of them know the total sum of my savings. They don’t have the Need To Know.
Just to share the joy, I might tell some close family that I won ‘something’,
the amount? ‘Oh, a little over $100. Dollars, and that’s before taxes! Ha ha!”
When people think they have found an easy source for a lot of free money, most people are changed. Deeply changed.
Sometimes just temporarily. I happened to me, before I stopped and checked my own behavior.
They want some of that ‘free money’ too, dammit!
“I thought we were friends! I’m not good enough for your friendship anymore, now that you’re rich. Is that it? I don’t know why I’m surprised.”
Well, whaddya know! Its my beloved, long lost uncle whatshisface!
For personal safety reasons, I wouldn’t be putting my name out there. Definitely put my photos.
Not very lucky: everyone now knows his name and face. He’d better make plans to move to a different place. Every huckster, and relatives he didn’t know he had, will be after him.
Good for him but he’s still a luck sucker they just suck all the luck away from you.
