Roll TideVirus!!! I thought with all the success of the football program 'Bama was attracting a smarter student body...oh well..rich spolit kids will always be rich spoilt kids. In a perverted sense this might be a good way of getting herd immunity. As long as kids with no risk factors are not involved and the kids isolate themselves after the party.

Mild covid infection for people in good health is a GOOD thing. I think I acquired it during cruise ending on Feb 29th this year. Had a funny dry cough for 10-12 days after cruise was over. May be I am immune now.

The smarter students go to Auburn. That’s just a fact (I live in the state, but have no dog in that hunt). That said, students living on their own for the first time are all idiots.

Its probably not a bad idea. Creating herd immunity for themselves. No government official in our snowflake age could ever suggest this, but for healthy young people, the rate of death from Covid-19 is about the same as getting struck by lightening.

Hmmm. Good for them. Thin the herd and herd immunity all in one.

Safer than bugchasers attending AIDs parties.

I agree that this will probably be a net benefit in the long run. But I doubt that the Tide Pod Generation has such an altruistic goal in mind.

Encouraging news. The younger generations value their liberty.

Wonder how many of these kids will go visit grandma and grandpa the day after they go to one of these parties and not think anything of it. I seriously doubt they’re going to isolate themselves after these parties. Kids this age are almost never responsible people.

They aren’t stupid. They are smart. These students know the virulence of this pathogen is about as low as it gets. They smell BS and are calling out the Emperor wearing no clothes.

Conservative coaches like Dabo Swinney at Clemson weren’t afraid of COVID and imho beat the competition with a virtual herd immunity. It’s an obvious smart play if you understand the miniscule risks for healthy young athletes.

Indications are immunity will keep them COVID - free for several months, if not forever.

I’ve been touting this theory for a week, and I see broadcaster Boomer Esiason considered it as perhaps intentional.

No outrage over weeks of protestors not wearing masks or social distancing.
