I remember being horrified. He was begging them not to shoot him. I am looking for the story and the video.

He was being given contradictory orders, which is why he could not obey.
One of the things they teach at the academy is that cops decide who takes the lead, so only one gives the orders.

The officer responsible was acquitted of wrongdoing, reinstated to the police force, then granted early retirement a month later with pension.

I’m a believer that those in government responsible for laws and enforcement(DAs, cops, Politicians, Judges, etc) need held to the highest standards. When they are found guilty and commit a crime they should lose everything. But oddly it never works that way.

Cops should be held to a higher standard than civilians. If a cop shoots a guy leaving a robbery on the other hand should be free to shoot to kill. The same should be true of a homeowner. If someone breaks into my house and takes my cashbox or pistol, he is going down. It is madness that the law doesn’t protect my property, and I cannot either. You can no more replace $1,000 in cash, than you can the days it took to earn that much over and above your life expenses. A theft is taking the time you traded for the object, not the object. What is more valuable than time in your life? What is more precious than your lifes energy, which is represented by your property?
