The officer responsible was acquitted of wrongdoing, reinstated to the police force, then granted early retirement a month later with pension.

I’m a believer that those in government responsible for laws and enforcement(DAs, cops, Politicians, Judges, etc) need held to the highest standards. When they are found guilty and commit a crime they should lose everything. But oddly it never works that way.
