Is it possible that the pretty woman I saw today (but, really couldn't see given her mask) is a back door grab of a religion?

No. Covid 19 just coincides with a lack of freedom as does Islam. There were bound to be some upsides for the women running around in burquas, life in a time of quarantine may be one of them.
Since both men and women are now wearing masks in public, I really don’t get your point.
I have started to wear a mask while grocery shopping but I feel more like a bandit than a victim of oppressive religious rules.

When cloth itself only stops 3% of particulates and many are wearing coverings like fashion then , it can’ be for health reasons alone that the so called “experts” recommend face masks but don't warn us against useless burka style coverings... so follow the money where It flows from to these “experts”, should tell us all we need to know !

What better way to protect yourself than a full body protective suit, like a Burka. You are not the only one to notice this but not many here seem to have grasped what you are talking about. Sad really, but the caliber of conversations here has declined since Cruiz-Trump battles. Really goes back to the crucifixion of Bucannon who was years ahead of Trump.

I had forgotten what is going on in western China, with the fulltime installment of Chinese Communist officials (hundred thousand plus) into the homes of Islamic families. I was one of the guilty parties of those destructive threads. I was clueless at the time - I’d like to think of myself a bit less clueless today. So I agree , Quality has fallen so dramatically, and in part its my fault.

Considering that you hear about churches and synagogue closings but curiously no mosque closures, I get what they’re hinting at.
In reading your homepage, I get more insight into your question. You seem to truly value marriage in the way God intended. Islam does not.
While mask-wearing is temporary (and supposedly for health reasons), it is disconcerting that in some religions it is accepted as norm for a woman’s face to be covered. I have always felt this practice a very odd message: Islam men are weak and unable to control themselves. One would think Islam men would want to be regarded as strong and able to withstand anything, be it temptation or torture. Guess not. I like my men strong :).
