An anti-parasitic head lice drug available around the world has been found to kill COVID-19 in the lab within 48 hours.
A Monash University-led study has shown a single dose of the drug Ivermectin could stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus growing in cell culture.
'We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA (effectively removed all genetic material of the virus) by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was a really significant reduction in it,' Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute's Dr Kylie Wagstaff said on Friday.
While it's not known how Ivermectin works on the virus, the drug likely stops the virus dampening the host cells' ability to clear it.
The next step is for scientists to determine the correct human dosage, to make sure the level used in vitro is safe for humans.

Ivermectin is an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug also shown to be effective in vitro against viruses including HIV, dengue and influenza.

I wouldnt be surprised if dogs (indirectly) come to our rescue again
Not Corvo related, but John Monash, (namesake of the university) was one of the better WW1 generals.
We rescued a little girl who had been kidnapped from Mexico to Kansas. She lived with us for two weeks. She fphad lice. Not a good thing.
No money in it.
No cure can be released unless it offers an opportunity for insider trading.
Fauci says yes it works against crabs, but we don’t know what side effects this drug could have when being used against the Coronavirus. We will have to do a two year study so just let the mother fckr burn.
Ivermectin = canine heartworm pills, along with many other uses in veterinary medicine.
It’s readily available at your local farm-n-home store.
5 years..you are being far too kind, in 10 years he will call the findings “Anecdotal”
It can be used internally and externally.
We used it on horses, goats and sheep, but apparently it is also used on humans too. So it already has safety trials done.
Maybe that’s why dogs cant get the virus
Democrat governors will ban it.
Nope. Can’t do it without full testing and FDA approval.
Takes a minimum of two years. Probably longer.
Can’t be helped. Must follow process you know.
Well you see, he will let us use it, maybe after 18 months to two years of study in numerous clinical trials. But in the meantime make sure you keep the country shut down and everyone unemployed, just to be safe, because Im not only your doctor Im an economic expert as well.
42 states now have stay-at-home orders for coronavirus. These are the 8 that don’t.

It’s great on ice cream.
In a nustshell, this is why we need to do away with the FDA.
The article says that the dose for head lice will do it.
The dose for head lice is already known, already determined to be safe.....so no testing is needed.
Interesting that in liquid form, it can be adminisered by mouth, injection or applied to the skin when treating cattle, dogs and horses.
Mouth is preferred except for cattle and there is a fortified dose for cattle that is injurious to other animals and fatal to dogs.
Anyway, no testing is needed if the head lice pills are to be used....if this article is correct.
By the way, it will cure your worms. That was its original purpose.
It is found in just about all horse, dog and pig wormers but can and will kill collies. land a few other shepard breeds.
Very interesting.
I’m sure the FDA will want to test it for a minimum of 18 months before it is given to dead Corona patients.
Bad headline on the part of DM. COVID-19 is not a cell.
I will test it in my fish tank first to make sure it kills bacteria in the fish tank before I ingest it into my system.
Itchy teeth? Sounds unpleasant.
