I'm 68 y/o, not in bad shape, but not excellent, have historical issues. I live in CA (central valley).
Bottom line: I'm not convinced I'll contract COVID, but I do believe I won't survive it if I do.
This has me getting my life in order, in my case, a herculean effort to get it done before possible contraction. Need to brush up my will, personal finances, administration..........then there are physical assets, misc. deals I'm working on. It's a huge job and I must get it done quickly.
Lastly, I'm going to show my daughter how to give FR updates and if necessary, notice of my death.
I'm 73. I don't plan to get sick but if I do I plan to recover.

Oddball references are great. As a matter of fact, the whole movie is so cool especially the cast and dialogue. Bottom line, facing adversity is all attitude. We are also seeing the best and worst of humanity.
going to work and watching my retirement slip away in the stock market
washing my hands more, limiting contact and trying desperately to calm people easily panicked down
You could hang out on your porch and yell at kids to stay off your lawn...
Living my normal life as far as the panic stricken will allow me.
At 76 I’ve been used to playing rec basketball 2-4 times a week for most of the last 35 years. Sitting around is not comfortable. so I decided to go for a shootaround, a workout. I went to my usual outdoor court a couple of blocks away from home (since school gyms are closed) and found the gates locked. Two other courts that I’ve played on in an adjoining town had the hoops removed. So I drove a couple of miles to the municipal complex and found open courts behind police HQ and did my workout.
Beats nothing, I guess, but the competition is the fun part. Let’s get this over with! < /rant >
Just replying to them.
Omg..coffee-spewing LOL at that! Thank you, humble! Good Lord..that is going to make me chuckle all day! Needed it.
There's no houses in prison!
Don’t know how many children you have, but in the end, if there would be let’s say 4 and they all have different ideas as to how things need to be split up, it makes a nightmare.
Try to have 1 for financial/estate administrator and 1 for healthcare/Med POA.
Based on what I have seen in the last 20 years, this would make everything simple and not split the family.
I’m ordering parts and building a boardgaming kotatsu.
I’m 72, have health issues as well, but because my normal lifestyle is a pretty quiet, and mellow one, nothing has changed for me. I’ve had my teeth cleaned, visited my doctor, and gone to the post office, and grocery shopping. Neither of my kids lives near me, so we talk on the phone, or email each other. I never watch any news programs, and won’t watch them now either. I get updates from the White House for anything I need to know, and then of course there’s Free Republic. For the most part, I spend most days indoors, and only go out when it’s absolutely necessary. I enjoy my tranquility. It’s been that way for me since I retired in 2003.
Don’t give up!
Do that first. The will can wait.
Not using that PC term.
We are avoiding going to stores until we really need specific food or medicines, and there are no other places to go.
We will drive around, staying in the vehicle, several times a week for about 90-120 minutes just to avoid total cabin fever.
I walk the dog {one mile, twice a day} but very few neighbors are out and about and if they are, we walk on opposite sides of the street.
I've been watching movies, DVDs, Prime, On Demand etc and try to watch only small amounts of "news".
I watch the President's briefing and today, for the first time I watched fredo's brother {he wasn't too bad}.
The regular FNC is so repetitive and predictable and depressing, that I just don't turn it on.
I'd never think of viewing cnnmsnbcabccbs for 'news', especially during this time of manufactured panic.
I will keep your wife in my prayers. One of my nephews, a twin in his mid 40’s, had a serious viral lung infection a few years ago. He almost died from it. He’d suffered from undiagnosed sleep apnea for many years, which didn’t help the situation. Thankfully he recovered, and uses a C-PAP machine now.
