Double postings of items of interest are common. Most of the time, folks here do check before they post. If it is a newly reported item - once one has checked to make sure it is not posted - it takes time to make a new post.
Some of us here are slower than others. Usually because we want to verify, clarify, and check the story over all.
To those that are quick to jump with condemnation, please consider this, you are no better than the media that rush to publish a story without verification.
It's more like spinner rims...
100% of the whinners are those that have never taken the time and effort to post an article.
F em.
I want double rolls of toilet paper.
You have not made yourself clear. Are you talking about duplicate threads? Are you talking about double postings? A comment that is repeated directly below the first comment?
This thread of yours is a perfect example of what Im talking about. In former days, this thread would have been deleted as useless.
You dont understand double postings? As you can see by the replies on this thread, we dont understand you.
“I have always tried to be tolerant of it. The tools to help arent great for everyone and I fail sometimes too.
I have much less sympathy for blog pimpers, even if I am not militant about it. I believe a lot of people exist who dont understand that they shouldnt, and I have always thought that a serious, good-natured warning is always the best first step.
I admit I have seen a few posters who disregard those kinds of approaches (often with great, persistent, and deliberate zeal) and the only treatment IMO is instant permanent banning.
I just think duplicates are gonna happen though even with well intentioned preparation.”
Thank you for your well thought out and measured response. It is sorely needed.
Less chance of missing it.
When the posts are rather close in time stamp, no issue. However, when it is clear that someone posted it a considerable time before the next person posts it, say 20-30 minutes, then it becomes obvious that they did not take the time to do a search first. If some one posts it again a day or 2 later, but the subject matter is on the important side, again no problem.
“Trust the risen Lord Jesus to save you as a damned and destitute sinner + be baptized + follow Him The Apostles Gospel was that Christ was truly divine, He died, He was resurrected, and He atoned for our sins. Laying out the foundation to trust Christ was their point so that the destitute sinner would chose to believe in the divine Christ, be baptized, and follow Him. Knowing that is what you are saying, but wanting to make sure the Gospel stays intact.
I see no conflict of confusion, and you can only use about 100 characters in a tag.”
You are correct. I am focusing on the ground work, you are focusing on the punchline.
Yours in Christ.
“I like it when there are multiple posts for the same article.
Less chance of missing it.”
Same here. We can’t all be online at the same time. Information (articles) are like a running stream. Who or when someone dips their hand into it is at a different time.

Sometimes I do post 20 - 30 minuets past when I first started the post while doing verification, clarification, etc. So when the post is finally done, another has posted. That is fine. My attention is to those that pile on to berate the late posters without knowledge of the how or why of their delay.
“You’re so vain”
I was hoping you would post this. Started to do it myself after the comment just for fun. You know this was written about Hugh Heffner? As such, it could not pertain to me. :-)
Hmmm. I won’t ask.
“I want double rolls of toilet paper.”
Double rolls or double ply? Hahahahaha “-)
You comment is rich.
I do feel affinity for many on this site, and I hate any time there is genuine discord.
I have been on both sides, and I would rather not be on either, honestly.
“get you feelings hurt?”
For a person who likes the classics, you would know that feelings are not a part of this.
Try typing a little faster
Aggravating message I see when my ftp program kills the connection due to inactivity. Especially maddening since it’s not a command line based program so there is no typing involved. I do know a thing about taking a long time typing things out. I’ve spent 2-3 hours typing an email so I do know where you’re coming from. I find myself writing sentences that are very long but grammatically correct so I have to go back and shorten/simplify them, even for my siblings. That’s just life. Everyone’s different and yes, those little messages can be aggravating. Get over it and get on with your life. You’re fine, I’m fine and most everyone else is too. At least we’re not clones. That would be boring as hell.
For those of us that have lives and don’t spend every waking moment on the internet, multiple posts are no problem. Less chance of missing something.
The thing I dislike is the one article with 60 comments and the other post of the same article with just a few less. Very messy. Even if it's one second different, get it nuked.
