Wuhan: A British man living in Chinas Wuhan - the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, has made a startling claim that he defeated the deadly virus with hot whisky and honey. According to Fox News, 25-year-old Connor Reed, who teaches English in Wuhan, was diagnosed with the virus about two months ago. At first he thought it was a simple flu, but after he experienced difficulties breathing and struggled with a bad cough, Connor sought hospital treatment.

I used the inhaler which helped control the cough and drank a hot whiskey with honey until [it] ran out. Its an old fashioned remedy but it seemed to do the trick.
Talking about how the virus has impacted the city, saying Wuhan is becoming a real ghost town. And there is no medicine or masks left in the pharmacies. If you go out without a mask the police will arrest you. The authorities are really worried about how to contain this and stop it spreading.

My 75 year old father, who has been sick all of 8 hours in his entire life, is a big believer in hot toddies at the first sign of not feeling well. I’m all for it.

Whenever I caught a cold as a child, if I was in my grandparents’ house, I was given a rub with Vick’s and a hot toddy with whiskey. Worked every time.

I swear by the whiskey cure. In my case, Scotch...straight or warm with honey and lemon - and you have to drink it as soon as you get that scratchy feeling or the beginnings of a fever. Although it seems as if this guy kept dosing himself throughout, which would probably work too if the hangover didnt kill you first.

A very nice southern woman gave me a few cold remedy suggestions. Rock and rye was the first. An onion sandwich was the other. I can only presume that they aren’t taken together.
