Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is warning of potential damage to crops and the high food prices that could follow after the New York metropolitan area saw record high temperatures this past weekend.
“It hit ~70° in NY,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Sunday night. “In January. This weather at this time of year can be very risky for local farmers & families they serve.”
“If certain crops germinate/flower prematurely & a freeze follows, crops could fail or drop in yield. When food supply drops, prices rise,” she continued, while adding the hashtag #ClimateCrisis.
Her post came in response to another tweet sent out by the National Weather Service on Sunday afternoon that confirmed record highs had been recorded in Central Park and Bridgeport, Conn., as well as other parts of the region over the weekend.

I’m at a loss on this crap. They don’t understand that rising temperatures would actually be a good thing for humanity. No one dies from extended growing seasons. No one dies when it’s 70 and sunny. Meanwhile, the truth might be that we are heading into a solar minimum that could bring about massive cold across the planet and much drier air masses which leads to crop death and famine. People die when it’s below freezing.
The one question I’ve been asking liberals with whom I engage on this subject seems to frustrate them: “what’s your end game? What does perfection look like?” They can’t answer. Usually because they’re just parroting what they read on social media but even the educated lefty, few and far between, concedes that global temperatures at 72 F year round are impossible. So what does their end game look like?
AOC will single handedly create millions of new climate sceptics in only 10 years.
The smart people were saying “we’re all dead in 100 years” because they were smart at stealing other people’s money.
You know, I think she actually has something here.
Up here in ND the temps are about 15 degrees warmer than they should be, and farmers are committing suicide at alarmingly high rates. The local mental health authorities cannot figure this out.
Those that aren’t offing themselves are selling out cheap, I mean dirt cheap.
This one guy sold a $500,000 combine to a junk dealer for scrap just to get rid of it because the market for implements no longer exists.
It’s so good to have a super intelligent little girl like AOC to help us figure out this important stuff.

I'm terribly worried about the crops in Central Park and Bridgeport, Conn. Crops have never had to survive warm winter days before. WE'RE ALL DOOMED!

And we had an early winter....temps 15 degrees below normal.

The robot says, “What will you have?”
The guy replies, “Whiskey.”
The robot brings back his drink and asks,

The robot continues to talk about physics, space exploration, and medical technology.
After the guy leaves and the more he thinks about it, the more curious he gets, so he decides to go back.

The man replies, “100.”
