It's the final film in the Skywalker saga that concludes the nine-film epic space opera.
And critics were full of praise for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker as they revealed their initial reactions to seeing the film at the Los Angeles premiere on Monday night.
While Disney has embargoed full reviews until Wednesday, those inside the three cinemas screening the film were so delighted they took to Twitter to give their spoiler-free thoughts on the film on Tuesday.

My favorite movie critic of all time.
You think Disney cares what you think? I kind of don’t. They’ve only made more money under Disney. This one has a forecast of a $200 million first weekend in US/Canada and a final of over $1 billion worldwide. They will do fine without you.
I’ve heard it being savaged by former SW shills.
Episode 8 was just bad.
Forget the “women are smart, men are dumb” premise.
Forget the “rich people are evil, morality rests with the underprivileged” theme.
Forget “Leia the Flying Jedi Nun”.
What REALLY insulted my intelligence was two items:
Bombing a space ship. Really? Slowly flying over a spaceship and dropping bombs on it? In a gravity free environment, how does that work?
Second, in Episode 4 the Death Star was destroyed after the plans were stolen by the Rebels, a weakness was found, and a last minute million-to-one shot guided by the Force was fired by the Jedi son of the villain (we didn’t know that part yet). All of this was unnecessary, according to Episode 8. They should have just taken a few ships and had them ram the Death Star at hyperspeed.
Episode 8 is the result of people who were unfamiliar with the Star Wars universe shoehorning social justice themes into a popular series knowing that millions of skulls full of mush would absorb the “men stupid, women smart and brave” theme without question.
I knew the ratings were Fake News once I saw Last Jedi.
In a galaxy far far away....it still stank.
Agreed 100%.
Too funny! Never seen that...
The franchise tanked. Probably jamming wokeness down the audiences throats and ignoring what fans think was not such a smart move. But go ahead and just destroy a franchise you spent billions for Disney. Brilliant business move!
The RT “critics” are all bought and paid for now. Ignore the reviews. Disney, Sony, Paramount et al fully control the internet movie critic frauds.
Warning: Not Safe For Work
Same with the movie....CATS
“I thought Star Wars Episode 6, Return of the Jedi, was supposed to be the end of the series.”
It is three trilogies, one for each generation of the Skywalker family.
They started with the middle trilogy, about Luke and Leia’s main story. Then they went back and did a trilogy about the earlier life of Anakin Skywalker, becoming Darth Vader. Finally, there is this trilogy, about the generation after Luke and Leia.
That is how George Lucas initially envisioned it, and this will be the last of those nine films.
Yeah but when? The Terminator-Woke bombed hard and the planned trilogy is cancelled. Many of the recent woke films, Ghostbusters, Charlie’s Angels tanked bad. Kathleen Kennedy has made a dog’s breakfast of the most beloved franchise of all time. It’s only Disney’s ridiculous and unaccountable fear of social media that keeps Kathleen from getting publicly canned.
Maybe someday they will wake up to “get woke, go broke”. The stockholders should step and can both her and that CEO clown who put her there.
The whole purpose of the movies is to sell toys and other swag......that’s where the real money is....... Evn is a movie bombs the toys will still sell................
Just checked. Per Variety, revenue was $263 bil in 2016.
That’s just for the merchandise.
True. However Star Wars toy sales are in the tank. Stores have piles of Rose Tico and General Hux dolls, etc on closeout specials. Disney has really screwed the pooch on this one.
Good.
And Hollywood is just gonna walk away from that......................yeah, riiiiiight...............Up next: Star Wars: The Next Generation..............
Disney got paid.
The stores got screwed...................
