An 18-year-old college student was stabbed to death on Wednesday afternoon in a New York City park, allegedly by a group of unidentified young men who mugged her then left her for dead.
Tessa Majors, a freshman at Barnard College who was from Charlottesville, Virginia, was walking down a flight of steps into Morningside Park on West 116th Street on Wednesday when the young men approached her.
According to police sources, they demanded money from her and stabbed her multiple times in the stomach before fleeing.
She crawled to a nearby security guard booth but the guard was doing his rounds.
No one has been arrested but police sources have revealed that a 16-year-old boy, who is a known robbery suspect, was taken into custody from a nearby housing project not long after the attack. They say a group of teens are also being questioned.

They were told to stay out of Morningside Park after dark. This happened at dusk. Dusky.
This time of year in NYC it is dark at 5:30 pm.
They are warned at orientation not to venture into the park at night.
oh poor kid! I’m sure she thought she’d be safe. Wrong.
“Young Men”
Amish, I presume.
A group of teens...
Too bad her local school UVA is so difficult to get accepted by.
They used to call it “wilding” but I think that was found to be politically incorrect.
Prayers up for her family. She either came from a good family, or worked her butt off to get into that college. :(

Sadly, a number of major universities are located in bad neighborhoods of major cities.
I lived next to Morningside Park when I went to Columbia U. I wouldn’t even go there in the day time. It borders Harlem.
My first thought.
...Morningside Park on West 116th Street
Not a good area. Barnard and Columbia are not in a good area. Sad
It looks like the park is in Harlem.
How about architect Paul Kersey ?
Politically correct posturing and behavior is not only delusional but is often lethal. Wonder if this girl actually believed the social justice and community propaganda she heard at Columbia?
She doesn’t anymore.
