Chick-fil-A, once under fire for donating to "anti-LGBT" Christian organizations, has now taken flack for funding seemingly pro-LGBT charities. In a truly shocking development, the fast-food chain even funded the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which is notorious for slandering conservative and Christian organizations by calling them "hate groups" on par with the Ku Klux Klan. While conservative Christians have been defending Chick-fil-A from criticism, the fast-food chain donated to one of their worst enemies.
On Wednesday, a Christian non-profit Chick-fil-A once supported called for a boycott of the fast-food chain.
"Its time for Christians to find a fast-food alternative to Chick-fil-A," Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council (FRC) said in a statement.
On Tuesday, Townhall's Ryan Bomberger revealed the shocking news that Chick-fil-A had given $2,500 to the SPLC in 2017, citing the Chick-fil-A Foundation's Form 990.
Yet a Chick-fil-A spokeswoman insisted that the SPLC donation did not represent the company as a whole, and due to the restructuring of Chick-fil-A's philanthropic giving, it will not happen again.
The donations in question were disclosed in the 2017 Chick-fil-A Foundation 990 that listed giving in that calendar year. Among the recipients that year were Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Salvation Army, Paul Anderson Youth Home and more than 300 other organizations. The SPLC donation was made by a volunteer member of the Chick-fil-A Foundation Advisory Board," the spokeswoman explained. "Each volunteer advisor, in 2017, was offered the opportunity to recommend a grant recipient. The grants were given to a range of organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Atlanta Mission, the Holocaust Survivor Support Fund, Georgia Historical Society and brain health research at Emory University."

CFA = AMF
Wow, I would have thought that the SPLC would have been the last organization that CFA would have supported.
This is a crock. $2500 is NOT “bankrolling.” CFA matched a fund for an employee. It is in the contracts. Someone probably did not look up the acronym.
It is amazing how a leftist communist infiltrator can bring down a company without them knowing it.
Ive been eating there about once a week to show my support. Im done. It isnt good for my waistline anyway. They do still have the cleanest and least thug-like FF establishment.
FWIW, I met the ex wife of Morris Dees. She said the SPLC was a complete scam. Dees could not care less. Hes just raking in the bucks on SJWs ignorance.
That’s the “big” issue in this article and what you say is true.
I think what bothers people is them abandoning the other charities at the bequest of gays.
Good think that i’m so lazy or i might have finally driven out of my way to eat there one time :)
Poor ol’ CFA. Always teeing someone off. Life serving the
public is a bitch. Don’t know how any company survives.
The devil is in the details. Who, specifically, gave money to the SPLC, and how much did they give? Follow the money. Don’t just believe an oversimplified headline.
Exactly. Nobody likes reading past the click-bait headline.
"...any organization or enterprise that is not expressly right wing will become left wing over time..."
Surprise.
Indeed.
CFA Hired an Obongo/Clinton hack to run or should I say ruin the company. They may distance them selves from this one donation but they have a much bigger problem. A large part of their customer base felt betrayed before this latest revaluation. They will have to do better if they want these people back. If
This is exactly what happens to a nation that forgets God and is given over to reprobate thinking.
It gets destroyed internally. Like Israel before and all other nations.
CFA can’t win because they are now officially fence sitters.
Exactly; you beat me to it.
As business people, IF they feel the heat of lost revenue, they'll see the light.
Even as an agnostic, I am a firm believer in redemption.
Should they repent, repudiate their errors, and change their behavior, I will, once I see the evidence, consider patronizing them again.
In my mind, it would be a purely business decision to locate every board member and minion that implemented the screw-the-Christians policy that cost the company money, and worse damaged, or frankly lost, that elusive and priceless thing a company calls its goodwill, and fire every single one of them.
In the mean while, I've heard good things about Popeye's sandwiches, and will be trying them.
The Popeye's is quite literally across the street from the Sparks Chick-fail-A, and even closer to Discount Tire where I'm getting my summer tires swapped out for snow tires after Thanksgiving.
As far as I'm concerned, this 2017 donation was an oversight and an aberration. However, Chick-fil-A Foundation's recent change in donation policy & practice is not. It's a purposeful betrayal of the company's purported principles and its customers' values.
Businesses need to understand, liberals froth at the mouth and scream boycott. But they rarely do so. Conservatives tolerate only so much, and then they speak with their actions.
Sounds like they are saying they had no control over where their money went. BS.
Wow, I would have thought that the SPLC would have been the last organization that CFA would have supported.
...
Thet hired Ballard and sold out. They have proven there is now no differentiation between McDonald’s and Chickfilet. This is now mafia payments a la protection money, but CFA won’t be able to prove to me what their values are, so I will not patronize them.
