I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
Oh no. He was a good man.
Prayers for those who loved him.
He was up all hours of the night clipping news. I know it meant a lot to him doing his part in his way and he did a good job of it.
We can arrange that, Laz...just don't make it soon, okay?
RIP, old friend
He will be missed. Every day now is borrowed time to us folks born before WW II.

2ndDivisionVet was one of the regulars that really made this place. Prayers going out for his family and friends.
Prayers for him and his family on the way. RIP.
Godspeed! Will miss his posts here. A true patriot in every sense of the word.
Oh no! Rest in peace 2ndDivisionVet
Always liked 2nd Division Vet. Yet another veteran passes on to the great beyond. We will remember him especially on this coming Remembrance day. Along with all of those who served. Wars carry a lot of problems to those who served, well beyond their ending. RIP.
Deepest condolences to the friends and family of 2DV. I am saddened to hear this news of the passing of one of FRs iconic figures. :(
Sad news! He was a prolific poster, friendly, an asset to the FR community. Very even keeled and steady. He posted some good articles, and had some interesting stories of job opportunities from around the country, even during the lean years.

Thank you for this note.
Oh my God. :(
I didn’t have much personal acquaintance with him but he was one of our most prolific thread starters, an invaluable part of the FR community.
My deepest condolences to his wife and family.
