BLACK holes could be a portal to another universe and our cosmos could have been born from one, a scientist has sensationally claimed.
While the accepted theory on the universe began is the big bang, there are other equally baffling theories. One such is that our universe was born from a black hole opening in another parallel universe and that each black hole in our cosmos could be a gateway to another universe. At the beginning of time, 13.8 billion years ago, there was a dense and super-hot energetic point where the laws of physics did not apply what is known as a singularity.

My Brother watches this kind of non sense and even he laughs when everything they think cannot be explained in moments of rational thought reverts to the catch all Science duct tape of Dark Matter and Black Holes which if you follow them do not behave as they posit they will
Hi class comedy, much ado about nothing in my book
One of my faves is the solar sail the size of Texas to sail around the Universe as if that were possible. And also what if you get to another planet and it is already populated, who says they are gonna hold a parade and welcome you in...
Funny Stuff, Science Fantasy
The Big Bang implies that all the mass of the universe was at one point at the beginning. And certainly if that were the case then it would have to be a black hole. The theory is that nothing can get out of a black hole so it follows that if the universe once was a black hole then it still is.
Hmmm... Might explain a lot of things...
THE singularity? A singularity is a mathematical concept, not a physical reality. Some physical things may be treated mathematically as a singularity even if they are not actually infinitely small. Whether a black hole hundreds of light years away is infinitely small, or not is irrelevant. The math works. The odds are pretty good that you can't really pack all the mass making up a black hole into a spot that has no volume.
The ‘theory’ that the universe is all a giant fluffy cat is actually more scientifically sound.
Sounds reasoned Dave.
If something was powerful enough to capture light, it stood to reason it would have a massive gravitational pull on anything caught within it’s grip.
I’ve never understood if we would be crushed or something else, but I didn’t see it as a benign to humans spacial object.
It seemed to me it would have to be lethal, but I don’t know if there is an effect that nullifies the effects so that we wouldn’t be harmed.
It’s simply been a curiosity to me.
I postulated this theory right here on FreeRepublic a couple of weeks ago.
What caused the Big Bang? What was behind the cause? What than was the origins of the cause and what did it develop from? what was behind the development of the development? Gee this is some far out crap!
Regardless of size, if all present physical laws came into being with the Big Bang, any attempt to describe conditions prior to the Big Bang using constructs from our present universe are invalid.
"Is the Big Bang a black hole?"
If you take the time to check out that link, you'll see that the last section in that article is entitled "Even so, could the Big Bang be a black or white hole?". (Quite frankly, I wouldn't touch that question with a ten-foot pole!)
Being inside a black hole is Milo Yanoppoloulis most earnest fantasy.
Can one detect Black holes if one is in a Black Hole? What would that scenario mean about the scale of things - can intelligence exist at smaller than atom scale?
That's a new one I hadn't heard before. We've been asked to believe in "Inflation", a time after the big bang where the laws of physics didn't apply. Now you're telling me that before the big bang the laws of physics didn't even exist. That's quite a religion you have there.
Laws of physics as they exist in our universe. When one goes backwards to the singularity, all the laws of physics break down. Time, gravity, laws of thermodynamics, periodic table of elements, etc all came into existence after the Big Bang.
Therefore, events before the Big Bang cannot be defined, because there's no way one can measure within our universe what happened prior to the big bang.
That's quite a religion you have there.
No, it would be a religion if I believed it. I only accept what physicists theorize about it with full awareness that they are only theorizing.
The big bang theory is just that - a theory. It may even be mostly correct. The fact, though, that there are properties of the theory that don't meet observations doesn't necessarily mean that the physics are wrong. It may mean that the theory is incomplete.
As a lay person, I understand that. I also understand that the singularity referred to as the Big Bang is a mathematical concept from which our physical reality arose. But the mathematical concept was the result of attempts to explain observation data suggesting a single point of origin for the expanding universe.
There is no evidence that singularities can even exist in the physical world.
Yet, there is observable evidence that our physical world arose from a singularity... a singularity which occurred in a state we are unable to adequately describe.
Accepting the big bang as a singularity makes a whole lot of assumptions that are just that - assumptions.
True but what better explanations are there for known observations such as red shifts and background microwave radiation?
Since "we are unable to adequately describe" your singularity, how can you call it "observable evidence"? You are making my point. The mathematical "singularity" does not adequately describe observable reality - unless you also say that "the laws of physics don't apply".
Why?
What part of the idea is not feasible at all?
That is feasible, but you would laugh at that. Why? Just because you have an idea does not make it feasible.
These guys would put that idea out there and no think of THAT?
Listen I don’t know about any of this so if you know any physics or astronomy or whatever you know more than so i’ll take your word on it :)
Ciao
