NEW YORK CITY A new survey found that 45% of Americans claim to have worn the same pair of underwear for two days or longer.
Underwear company Tommy John surveyed 1,000 men and women to determine how long they wear and keep their underwear.
Almost half of participants said they had worn the same pair for two days or more, while 13% said they had worn the same pair for a week or more.
85% of Americans dont know how long theyve owned their oldest pair of underwear, according to the survey.
The company states you should swap out your old underwear for a new pair every six months to a year. However, the study found that 46% of Americans have had the same pair of underwear for one year or longer.
The study added that, over time, underwear accumulates various types of problematic microorganisms and fungal germs that can increase your susceptibility to certain illnesses, like yeast infections and urinary tract infections, among others.
The study also states that men are 2.5 times as likely as women to wear their underwear for more than a week.

In today's world, there is no reason not to change underwear every day and to wash the perineum as soon as possible after each defecation. A shower is often close to the toilet.
Doh!
I’m glad I never dated any of these women!
Then there are the folks who don’t wear underwear.
I probably get 60 days out of mine, if I had to estimate, so count me in that group.
But I do wash them after each day of using them.
I remember Peyton Manning said, while in college, that he would turn his underwear inside out and wear it again.
Well, that defeats its purpose. Underwear is supposed to keep any skids off the inside of your pants.
BTW, that was the infamous interview where he said he didn’t know how to use a can opener.
Nasty. No wonder that even from a distance, so many people smell like a Burger King.
This whole news story was made up and reported just to hide the fact that:
JOE BIDEN EVENT DRAWS 30 PEOPLE WHILE TRUMP PACKS OUT RALLY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE !!!
The rest of them don’t.
Older people become less hygienic from what I have seen.
Who gives a sh....?
unexpected...
Romney’s 47% comment starts to make sense.
My family always took a bath before going to bed.
When I got married at age 25, my wife took one every morning. The difference was her Father was a white collar professional and her Mother was a teacher. My Father was a blue collar worker and us kids spent almost all the time outdoors playing and getting dirty.
We did not want to go to bed dirty. My wife did not want to go to work dirty. I began to take my bath in the morning too and still do unless I get dirty working outside.
That’s just gross. What is the legal status of those polled?
What’s underwear?
If youre constipated, you dont give a S.
Really unbelievable.
Ugh...what next in surveys - bathing habits? I did t want to know about underwear usage...
three female recruits are in line at the central issue facility awaiting their turn for underwear.
The first is asked “How many pair? To which she replies “Seven... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...”
Fine, here, move along.
The second replies “Five.”
Five?, asked the GS5 clerk.
Yeah, she says, Monday through Friday, I don’t wear underwear on weekends.
Oh.
NEXT!
Third recruit says “Twelve.:
WTF. Nine?
Yeah, January, February, March... I don’t wear ‘em in the summer months.
