Drezner: You all need to adjust to the fact that UFOs exist

You can add another voice from the media and education community to the growing list of military and government figures who are now talking about the potential realities of UFOs, no matter where they’re actually coming from. Daniel Drezner, a writer for the Washington Post, as well as a professor at Tufts University, tosses another log on the fire this week with a provocative proclamation. According to Drezner, we’ve hit the point where everyone needs to get used to the idea that we have things flitting around in our airspace that we can’t yet explain. He then dangles the bait many have been waiting for, asking how much longer it will be before we have to consider the unimaginable as the only logical conclusion.

What appears to be happening is that official organs of the state are now acknowledging that UFOs exist, even if they are not literally using the term. They are doing so because enough pilots are reporting UFOs and near-air collisions so as to warrant better record-keeping. They are not saying that these UFOs are extraterrestrials, but they are trying to destigmatize the reporting of a UFO.

Still, the very fact that this step has been taken somewhat weakens the Wendt and Duvall thesis ("Sovereignty and the UFO" by Alexander Wendt--Ohio State--and Raymond Duvall--Univ Minnesota). This was always a two-step process: (a) Acknowledge that UFOs exist; and (b) Consider that the UFOs might be ETs.

In recent years, the U.S. national security bureaucracy has met the first criterion. What happens to our understanding of the universe if great powers meet that second one?

The first notable thing about this article is that it’s coming from someone of Drezner’s standing and being published as a serious opinion piece in the Washington Post without any of the trappings of comedic disdain normally accorded the subject. As I mentioned when discussing the most recent Navy pilot reports, it was not at all that long ago when speaking or writing openly about such things would end your career. If Drezner had published this piece as little as two years ago it could have spelled the sunset of his academic career and his invitation to write at prominent newspapers

Of course, believing this makes one a REAL wacko. Scripture speaks of us wrestling “not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

I would note that I have not seen ONE film, read ONE book or heard of ONE channeling re: extraterrestrials that preached “Jesus Christ and him crucified”. They all, without fail, preach the Universal Vague Religion of Satan.

One might say our era has been buttered up for the appearing of SOMETHING, claiming to come in peace and love!

It is claimed that in the 1950s the US recognized UFOs as a potential security threat against which we could do little in that direct challenges led to destruction and retaliation. Therefore the government denied that UFOs were real in order to avoid panicking the public. In the meanwhile, we studied them in great secrecy.

Now, the US military supposedly has the technology to confront, target, and destroy hostile UFOs. Gradually, the existence of UFOs will be admitted and their bewildering variety and diverse origins and intentions will be explored by outside scientific experts. This is said to be the deeper purpose behind Trump's Space Force proposal.

Of course, although this is plausible, we cannot now know if it is true.

People have indeed seen flying objects which they have not identified.

I hear lots about it, but I have yet to see real proof, so no I don’t need to adjust to the fact that UFOs exist. 8>)

There is no proof as in the capture of an unknown and previous unimagined flying craft, BUT the Navy is releasing lots of circumstantial evidence supported by eye witness accounts of Naval pilots which makes a case for an unknown craft of heretofore unknown flying and maneuvering abilities. Furthermore, this craft in question has abilities (and has had such abilities for some time) that are beyond anything the U.S. or any other government has developed.

That alone takes some adjusting to.

On top of that, these unknown craft are maneuvering dangerously close to our aircraft flying in restricted training space which happens to be located in areas critical to U.S. national security.

That takes some adjusting to, if not by us civilians, by the DOD.

Back in the 1960s I was assigned to Air Force Office of Scientific Research. AFOSR was directed to support a study of the UFO phenomenon. That meant that someone on the staff would be put in charge the study. The Director told me I had been considered for that post, but the choice went to another of our scientists. I replied that it was just as well, since I already thought they were extraterrestrial, and wasn't sure I could be objective in running the study.

The study examined all the major cases, but ultimately came to no conclusion.

Sounds like the study was led by Robert Mueller....
