Effective at the stroke of midnight, Wednesday, anyone who is under 18 years of age and unvaccinated against the measles
will be barred from public places until this declaration expires in 30 days or until they receive the MMR vaccination.
There have been 161 cases of measles in Rockland County, NY. since October.
The Health Commissioner is frustrated because infected individuals are continuing to go about their business
in common areas, despite been told not to go out into the public.
These include department stores, like Target, as well as food supermarkets using shopping carts.
No it’s not, genius.
The disease is way more dangerous than the shot. Not all cases are “mild” and an infected kid can pass the virus onto pregnant women and leave the unborn child with birth defects.
Why do you think the vaccine was developed anyway?
This is the longest continuous run on measles since it was eradicated in the U.S., since 2002.
No wonder there is a shortage of the MMR vaccine,
as the viral disease is appearing throughout the US now.
Good luck enforcing this one.
The CDC suggests 12 vaccinations for infants up to 4 months old, or 3 per month for the first 4 months of life. The average 4 month old infant is 15 pounds, 24
I remember that with German measles, which can cause birth defects if a pregnant woman gets it.
That’s where the money is.
I cought them in HS...late 50s. My school had that bug run rampant for a couple of weeks.
Patrick Henry would have been an anti-vaxxer.
“Why do you think the vaccine was developed anyway?”
To give kids autism, duh...
/sarc
Amazingly those with vaccination immunity fear measles more than those without...
Top of the hour radio news indicated people were going to need their vax records with them in public.
Not saying this shouldn’t be done, BUT amateurs discuss tactics, professionals discuss logistics.
1. How many have theirs at home, readily available? Other than military, that is.
If they don’t have the vax record, how do they get a copy? This typically takes a hard-copy HIPAA release, even to get your own records. Been there.
They’ll have to go to the Dr.’s office to sign the release. And then wait (with everyone else) to get the vax record. That means going out in public. Without vax records.
Maybe twice if they have to come back for the records.
Catch-22. Doubled up if (when) the kids lose/trash theirs.
2. Requiring one to show an unauthorized 3rd party one’s own medical info might be construed as a HIPAA violation. Perhaps an expert can clarify.
Mrs. Castlebrew notes that it would be interesting to know the demographics.
Such as immigration status and country of origin.
There was a reason for mandatory quarantine at Ellis Island.
True that !
(in my best East German accent): 'Vere is you papers, Comrad !'
And you're right, not many folks have their own vaccination record at home,
and yet most have vax records for our pets.
That’s because of the entitlement mentality that dems have foisted on us.
We have our *rights* and nobody can tell us what to do and quaranteening someone to prevent spread of a contagious disease is trampling on their rights to do what they want without regard to others.
I guarantee you they are Hasidic Jews.
Rockland County is approximately 35 miles North/NW
from the 'Sanctuary City' of the municipality of New York City.
The County abuts New Jersey to the south, and it's eastern boundary is the Hudson River.
It is considered within commuting distance from NYC.
DEBUNKED ALREADY!
Hmm? Did you miss the sarcasm tag?
Yeah, I did. Shame on me. Was half expecting to get flamed for my comment.
Lotta flat earth types on FR, sorry to say.
