Effective at the stroke of midnight, Wednesday, anyone who is under 18 years of age and unvaccinated against the measles
will be barred from public places until this declaration expires in 30 days or until they receive the MMR vaccination.
There have been 161 cases of measles in Rockland County, NY. since October.
The Health Commissioner is frustrated because infected individuals are continuing to go about their business
in common areas, despite been told not to go out into the public.
These include department stores, like Target, as well as food supermarkets using shopping carts.
Rockland County to Declare Measles State of Emergency, Ban Unvaccinated Minors From Public Spaces
Additionally, some parents are holding 'measels parties' so as to expose children, thus giving them immunity. The Commissioner says that knowingly infected persons should face some legal accountability, and they are looking into that possibility.
we need to accept more “refugees”
Illegal immigrants excepted.
Celebrate illegal aliens from sh*thole 3rd world countries...
Dirty people, coming from countries where they don’t vaccinate.
Measles outbreak in Michigan too. Just ordered some MMR. Hard to get at this point because of a run on supply.
Yeah. Let the US deal with it.
Ban illegal aliens!!
Apparently not,.. hence the virus is spreading.
A voluntary quarantine is obviously not working,
perhaps an 'enforced quarantine' may be in order .
This is OK. Safer than the vaccine if it’s a mild case.
Doesn’t this discriminate against illegal aliens?
MMR vaccine
Two doses of MMR vaccine are about 97% effective at preventing
measles; one dose is about 93% effective. Children may also get
MMRV vaccine, which protects against measles, mumps, rubella,
and varicella (chickenpox). This vaccine is only licensed for use
in children who are 12 months through 12 years of age.
...and encourage more tinfoil hat antivaxxers not to immunize their kids.
My kid sister and I were sent to my cousin’s house when he had the measles. We spent the night and came down with them later that week. This was common practice in the late 40s.
