Lisa Mei Crowley's take (and a retweet or two) on the Whitaker torture session.

So disgusting how Dems are treating AAG @MattWhitaker46. They really look and sound completely deranged.— Lisa Mei Crowley (@LisaMei62) February 8, 2019

Kudos to AAG @MattWhitaker46 for keeping his cool during this embarrassing display of hyperpartisan lunacy by the Dems on this panel.— Lisa Mei Crowley (@LisaMei62) February 8, 2019

I LOL'ed when he did this...😂 https://t.co/02xmA27pA7— Lisa Mei Crowley (@LisaMei62) February 8, 2019

.BOOM! Acting AG Whitaker cuts off Chairman Nadler's questioning by noting:
“Mr. Chairman, I see that your 5 minutes are up." Whitaker won’t be pulled into this political BS. He volunteered to appear! WTG! pic.twitter.com/AK7MyX7fK9— JamieR {🎗} Army Girl ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@Jamierodr10) February 8, 2019

I know he's a professional but how does Whitaker not burst into laughter?? Dems are becoming madder, louder, pissier and more emotional as they go along. Whitaker's really getting to them today. Bunch of know nothing, spoiled brats exposing themselves for the whole nation to see.— Snake Plissken (@MrSnakeLA) February 8, 2019

I feel a ramping up in the force. Once the Mueller investigation is finished and results made public - "Nada" - then the fun begins.

Trump's recent twatterers, first is from yesterday, all the rest from today:

Highly respected Senator Richard Burr, Chairman of Senate Intelligence, said today that, after an almost two year investigation, he saw no evidence of Russia collusion. “We don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia.” Thank you!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2019

Not only did Senator Burr’s Committee find No Collusion by the Trump Campaign and Russia, it’s important because they interviewed 200 witnesses and 300,000 pages of documents, & the Committee has direct access to intelligence information that’s Classified. @GreggJarrett— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2019

Now we find out that Adam Schiff was spending time together in Aspen with Glenn Simpson of GPS Fusion, who wrote the fake and discredited Dossier, even though Simpson was testifying before Schiff. John Solomon of @thehill— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2019

The mainstream media has refused to cover the fact that the head of the VERY important Senate Intelligence Committee, after two years of intensive study and access to Intelligence that only they could get, just stated that they have found NO COLLUSION between “Trump” & Russia....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2019

...It is all a GIANT AND ILLEGAL HOAX, developed long before the election itself, but used as an excuse by the Democrats as to why Crooked Hillary Clinton lost the Election! Someday the Fake News Media will turn honest & report that Donald J. Trump was actually a GREAT Candidate!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2019

I will watch more of it later, if my BP/ticker can handle!!!

Meanwhile:

If the Va. AG Can’t Take Governorship, Guess Who Takes Over: The GOP’s Speaker of the Va. House

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/va-ag-cant-take-governorship-guess-takes-gops-speaker-va-house/?ff_source=Email&ff_medium=conservative-brief-CT&ff_campaign=dailyam&ff_content=conservative-tribune

The hits just keep on coming for Virginia Democrats, so much so that the top tier of the state’s leadership appears on the verge of having to resign in disgrace, handing control of the state over to Republicans.

First, Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam shocked the nation with disgustingly calloused remarks about post-birth abortions, only to be followed days later by the revelation of a racist photograph on his medical yearbook page, which featured him either dressed in blackface or a KKK hood. Northam has denied being in that particular photo, but has admitted to dressing in blackface as pop singer Michael Jackson on a separate occasion.

Then Democratic Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax was hit with a #MeToo scandal of his own just days after that, as a woman in California has come forward to claim that he sexually assaulted her at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Fairfax has denied the allegation, but admitted to having had a “consensual” sexual relationship with the woman.

If both Northam and Fairfax succumbed to the growing bipartisan demands that they step down from their offices, the line of succession in Virginia would elevate Democratic Attorney General Mark Herring to the governor’s mansion. However, he has now become embroiled in controversy as well.

The Washington Examiner reported Wednesday that Herring has announced publicly that he once dressed in blackface for a party when he was much younger.

In a statement released following an emergency meeting with the state’s legislative black caucus, the 57-year-old Herring said, “In 1980, when I was a 19-year-old undergraduate in college, some friends suggested we attend a party dressed like rappers we listened to at the time, like Kurtis Blow, and perform a song.”

“It sounds ridiculous even now writing it,” he continued. “But because of our ignorance and glib attitudes — and because we did not have an appreciation for the experiences and perspectives of others — we dressed up and put on wigs and brown makeup.”

****************

All three Democratic officials have thus far resisted calls to resign their offices, but were all three to do so, the Washington Examiner reported separately that the line of succession for Virginia’s governorship would fall to the third official in line: Republican House Speaker Kirk Cox.

As per Article 5, Section 16 of the Virginia state constitution, the line of succession is laid out as descending from the governor to lieutenant governor to attorney general to the speaker of the House.

Probably one of the most, if not most, important things to come out in the Whitaker hearing is this. And it must be emphasized.

Whitaker Confirms Horowitz/Huber Investigations.

There are those who say that both IG Whitaker and specially assigned (by Sessions) U.S. Attorney John Huber are doing nothing and investigating nothing. We FReeQs know these investigations are going on.

Now we have the ACTING ATTORNEY GENERAL confirming that they are, in fact, "currently" investigating the "Carter Page FISA application" as well as "CERTAIN MATTERS".

Click the link above to see Whitaker make this statement before Congress and the world.

He very nicely debunks the Jacky Soyas and his fellow "nothings happening" derps.

I don't think the demoderps on the committee were pleased to have that come out in testimony. And neither were certain trolls around here.

😃

WATCH: Sen. Lee Confronts Sen. Hirono Over Dems Questioning Nominees’ Religious Beliefs

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/laurettabrown/2019/02/08/sen-lee-confronts-sen-hirono-over-senate-judiciary-dems-questioning-nominees-religious-beliefs-n2541063?utm_source=thdailypm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl_pm&newsletterad=&bcid=f64c3fcba074f1a911d4aafa65cf0ec8&recip=24403595

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) condemned religious tests for judicial nominees during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday and ended up having a confrontation with Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) who argued that sometimes questions about a nominee’s religious beliefs are relevant to how they will rule on certain matters.

“The problem with asking a nominee about the particulars of his or her religious beliefs is that those questions inevitably expose those beliefs as somehow a qualifier or a disqualifier for public office,” Sen. Lee argued. “That is flatly inconsistent with at least the letter, at least the spirit if not also the letter, of at least two provisions of the Constitution. I cannot fathom why this would ever make sense to do.”

He then directly confronted Sen. Hirono, who has faced criticism for her scrutiny of judicial nominee Brian Buescher’s membership in the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic charitable organization of which John F. Kennedy was once a member.

Lee invoked Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) question to judicial nominee Neomi Rao earlier this week. Booker asked her if she thought gay relationships were a “sin.”

“I would ask Sen. Hirono, in what circumstance, in what way, shape, or form is asking Neomi Rao whether she believes particular conduct to be sinful an appropriate question to be asked in this committee,” Lee asked.

*******************
Senate Democrats have been criticized in the past for asking religious questions of President Trump’s judicial nominees.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) famously made concerning remarks two years ago during the confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett, telling her “the dogma lives loudly within you and that’s of concern.”

Carrie Severino, Chief Counsel and Policy Advisor with the Judicial Crisis Network, thanked Sen. Lee for his remarks.

“Thank you Sen. Mike Lee for putting Senate Democrats, who have demonstrated hate towards religion and people of faith, on notice for bullying President Trump’s judicial nominees,” she said in a statement. “These smear tactics have no place in a judicial confirmation, or anywhere else.”

Goodness!

Nothing like a few allegations of rape in college to make a few halloween blackface photos seem a little less serious!

Now, if only the Virginia Democratic party could find that the Lt. Gov. secretly voted for Trump they would be just about clear on this whole mess!
