BAby sitter for husband.

Posted on 01/24/2019 6:18:55 PM PST by oldasrocks

My wife leaves every year for a month or two to visit family overseas. I feel she should hire someone to do her job while she is not here. You know cook, clean, laundry, cuddle, scoop out the chicken house, give the dogs a bath, the important stuff.

Why should I have to do all my work and hers too just because she goes on vacation for a month or more? What are your feelings about this?

You’re going to get dive bombed by any ‘Helen Reddy’ (I am Woman, Hear Me ROAR!!) types. You know that, right?

Or, you could tough it out on your own, then email pics to your wife showing you A. Having a real hard time.
B. Doing just great! (but still seen looking at her picture).

There are some couples who remain in love, and last many years in the marriage. One reason some last is because they have a few scheduled breaks from each other, even if that break is only an 8 hour work shift. My parents were that way.

Careful. If you leave it up to her to hire someone to “look after” you, that could be dicey. Just sayin’.

LOL! Just be grateful she’s going this time of year when there’s not as much to do. I know you have huge Gardens and lots to take care of if she waited till later in the year.

Don’t you have a brother or something that helps you?

I love quiet just about as much as anything.

No crowds or large groups, no blasting music, no telephone calls, no pestering people I’m all for.

My wife passed from ovarian cancer a year and a half ago. Prior to that we were only part a total of 10 days. One was a temporary assignment while I was in the military, and the other was a week where my daughter took her on a trip to California to see her sister.

I still miss her after 42 years of marriage.

Sounds like you need to hire a maid, and negotiate the benefits package.

I don’t think it’s masculine at all for a man to rely on a woman to do his cooking and cleaning for him. Actually, I find it rather pathetic and emasculating.

Watch out that she doesn't hire you a male babysitter (unless you're into that sort of thing...)

I am sorry to hear about your wife.

I have occasionally said that the worse day of my life will be the day when he is taken from me.

Someone said that the parting is only temporary and that is true but it will still be horrible.

The love of 42 years doesn’t pass in a year and a half. Thankfully it wasn’t the other way around! My wife cried every day for two years after her dad passed away at a young age. I cried a couple of times after my dad passed away at a young age. Both of us did it the right way. For us.

Good luck in the future years.
