Next Thursday, I will get a vagina. The procedure will last around six hours, and I will be in recovery for at least three months. Until the day I die, my body will regard the vagina as a wound; as a result, it will require regular, painful attention to maintain. This is what I want, but there is no guarantee it will make me happier. In fact, I dont expect it to. That shouldnt disqualify me from getting it.
I like to say that being trans is the second-worst thing that ever happened to me. (The worst was being born a boy.) Dysphoria is notoriously difficult to describe to those who havent experienced it, like a flavor. Its official definition the distress some transgender people feel at the incongruence between the gender they express and the gender theyve been socially assigned does little justice to the feeling.
But in my experience, at least: Dysphoria feels like being unable to get warm, no matter how many layers you put on. It feels like hunger without appetite. It feels like getting on an airplane to fly home, only to realize mid-flight that this is it: Youre going to spend the rest of your life on an airplane. It feels like grieving. It feels like having nothing to grieve.
Many conservatives call this crazy. A popular right-wing narrative holds that gender dysphoria is a clinical delusion; hence, feeding that delusion with hormones and surgeries constitutes a violation of medical ethics. Just ask the Heritage Foundation fellow Ryan T. Anderson, whose book When Harry Became Sally draws heavily on the work of Dr. Paul McHugh, the psychiatrist who shut down the gender identity clinic at Johns Hopkins in 1979 on the grounds that trans-affirmative care meant cooperating with a mental illness.

And the ones who have surgery have a MUCH higher suicide rate.
They are just plain mentally ill.
Doesnt sound like he should do it!
Other considerations aside this is why trans people should not be in the military. For the same reason that those with diabetes or a raft of other medical conditions debar individuals with them from the uniformed services. Deployed to some very primitive place such as Afghanistan individuals with various conditions degrade unit readiness just by being there. Why are the progs so devoid of basic common sense on this one? Apparently sexual identity trumps everything else.

Maybe they can start a trade in market.
It’s a destructive mental illness.
Next Thursday, I will get a vagina.
No. You wont.
L
and there it is...
This ugly fat twit needs to honor his original body.
Unless, this was originally a woman who FEELS that one vagina is not enough.
(Not going there and you shouldn’t either.)
This guy doesn’t seem to understand that dysphoria is endemic to all people in this world.
Unhappy and in a great deal of debilitating pain. The trans lobby and their enablers do their best to keep a lid on the gory details of what these surgeries entail, making them sound as routine as a breast augmentation. The truth is, it is very messy business rife with complications, infections, necrosis, and can leave patients unable to do routine tasks like going to the bathroom without extreme agony.
Enabling this transgender madness is medical malpractice. This poor man needs mental health treatment. Society has failed him.
After aggravating all his relatives and its one friend it will spend or have some insurance company pay for a grossly overpriced operation(s) and then will probably commit suicide within a few years.
“Gender dysphoria” is nothing more than an extremely desperate cry for attention and is almost guaranteed, if catered to, to end in suicide.
Yeah, HE admits he’s suicidal. It’s almost inconceivable that a surgeon would operate on this freak. He’ll really be depressed when he wakes up in enormous pain.
This guy is crazy as hell and pretty much admits it. In fact, he says he wasnt suicidal til he started taking hormones, and now he is.
Let me guess. Lupron.
Used to block testosterone production, for good reasons and bad. "Suicidal ideation" is one of the side effects.
This man may really and genuinely feel like he should have been born a woman and he may spend every day wishing he were born a woman. However, wishing to be a woman and literally feeling like a woman trapped in a man’s body are two completely separate things. As the Dr. McHugh of Johns Hopkins mentioned in the article once wrote, he had conducted psychiatric examinations of many men who claimed they felt like women stuck in men’s bodies. What Dr. McHugh always found was that these men followed one of two patterns: either they were highly aroused by fantasizing about being female, or they had severe mental issues that they mistakenly blamed on being male instead of facing the root causes. Either way, when Dr. McHugh would ask these patients to describe female issues, they never showed much interest in topics that legitimately do interest women. For example, they were never interested in discussing menstrual cycles, which is a topic that many women do discuss (but never when men are around).
In any case, when/if this unfortunate deluded man has this major mutilation done to his body, he can be assured that he will never physically feel what a woman feels.
Bluto !?!
CHU?? Is he identifying as Chinese too?
