Archaeologists in Egypt have uncovered a village with remains that predate the pharaohs by around 2,000 years.
Egypts Ministry of Antiquities said that the Neolithic site was discovered in Tell el-Samara, about 87 miles north of Cairo. Chief archaeologist Frederic Gio said his team found silos containing animal bones and food, indicating human habitation as early as 5,000 B.C. Pottery and stone tools were also found.
The pharaonic era began around 3,000 B.C. and the Giza pyramids were built 500 years later.
The village is one of the oldest found in the Nile Delta, according to a Facebook post by the Ministry Sunday.
In recent years, Egypt has touted discoveries in the hopes of reviving tourism after the unrest that followed its 2011 revolution.
In a separate project, archaeologists recently unlocked the secrets of a mysterious ancient cursed black granite sarcophagus.
The massive coffin, which was excavated in the city of Alexandria, was found to contain three skeletons and gold sheets with the remains. The tomb dates back to the Ptolemaic period between 305 B.C. and 30 B.C.
Experts also recently found the oldest solid cheese in the tomb of Ptahmes, mayor of the ancient city of Memphis.
A mummy buried in Southern Egypt more than 5,000 years ago, has also revealed its grisly secrets, shedding new light on prehistoric embalming practices. Additionally, a mysterious sphinx, was discovered during roadwork in the Egyptian city of Luxor.

Fortunately for me, at least in this regard, is that I live in New York City, home of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with their spectacular ancient Egypt collection.
Democrats want Kavanaughs writings from this period.
Let it be written, let it be so
We spent a couple weeks going all over the country before Mubarak was overthrown. The place is breath taking. It was definitely worth the risk at that time.
And it gets more interesting when you look at how they managed to precision carve diorite and granite making near exact duplicates carvings with the only tools found which are soft copper chisels and pounding stones and so forth. keep in mind that granite is crystalline and easily shattered.
Modern granite carvings are done with precision cutting machines; no one would pound it and if they managed not to break the surface, there is no way pounding can produce exact copies such that each side is a mathematical image of the other and even to creating proportions which are Fibonacci spirals and other mathematical formations.
ponder that ... when some one say the Old Kingdom Egyptians were primitive.
Let it be written, let it be so (njslim)
You two "Win the Internet" a joint award!
Considering how fast humans evolved, one has to wonder why there was no intelligent dinosaur civilizations. Over 200 million years they dominated. Even gave some of them wings, but no higher intelligence ?
:^) They walked and talked a lot like us.

Interesting.Thanks for the post!

The ancient Egyptians didn't build the pyramids. They adopted them.
Egyptian priests told Greek historian Herodotus, that the pyramids had always been there.
If I were going to tour Egypt, I’d take this one:
Robert M. Schoch: Tours
https://www.robertschoch.com/tours.html
Egyptian priests told Greek historian Herodotus, that the pyramids had always been there.
No, as a matter of fact, they told him nothing of the kind. He discusses various pyramids a bunch of times, and not once does anything of that kind every come up. He talks about where some of the stone was quarried for the "Memphis pyramids" (Giza and Abu Roash), describes a couple of Middle Kingdom pyramids that were still in good shape in his time (they were built of mud brick, and didn't hold up as well as the masonry pyramids), etc.
Absolutely agree with that. Their achievements are beyond amazing. I was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art the other day marvelling at their incredible sculptures and carvings.
I'll do more research and get back to you on that.
Meanwhile, the physical evidence strongly suggests that the pyramids and other megalithic structures in Egypt, could not have been built by the dynastic Egyptians.
I understand that many people are wedded to the traditional mainstream narrative of Egypt's monuments, but those views have become unsupportable, in light of closer observation and analysis over the last few decades.
No, as a matter of fact, they haven't. Even though the position of Robert Schoch has changed, he doesn't deny that the Giza pyramids were built by dynastic Egypt; his view is that there is evidence that the location was chosen because of earlier structures there (the descending passage connects with the rest of the pyramid internals, but appears to be an unfinished, much earlier structure). This appears to be mostly an outgrowth of his geological analysis that there is water erosion on the Sphinx, part if its enclosure, and on the walls of Sphinx temple and Valley temple which stand out in front, but in part I believe this is due to his association with Bauval, who's just an occultist fringe writer.
Not sure what that response is in reference to, but if you're denying that closer inspections and analyses of Egypt's monuments has taken place over the last thirty years, I can assure you that they have. The books and documentaries on the subject are too numerous to mention.
In a nutshell, much of the physical evidence shows unmistakable traces of high tech machining - not just in Giza - but at sites all over Egypt. The tool marks don't lie. Whoever quarried, cut, and dressed the multi-ton blocks that make up the megalithic structures in Egypt, was using tools and methods that we in the twenty first century don't possess.
Those who are wedded to the mainstream theory must confront the fact that the traditional explanations have been proven inadequate.
We know what tools the ancients used to work stone, because they're recorded on papyrus and wall paintings, as well as being stored in museums. Those tools cannot work granite, diorite, andesite, and such, because they're softer than those materials. At minimum, it takes diamond to cut and finish stone as hard as that.
Some finished stones in these monuments are perfectly squared and polished to mirror smoothness. Modern measuring devices reveal that many of them are flat to within a couple thousandths of an inch. It's simply impossible to achieve that degree of precision using stone pounding balls and copper chisels.
Essentially, the mainstream theories of ancient monument construction fall apart upon close scrutiny of the physical evidence and logical inquiry.
In my view, we're missing a very large piece of the human story. Someone built those monuments using very advanced technology. I believe those people existed thousands of years before the dynastic Egyptians, and that they died out - most likely due to some major, worldwide cataclysm. Perhaps one day we'll find out who they were, and recover the missing chapters of our human story.
