HOW can I still be shocked by these people! HOW!?
There was something more than just merely narcissistic or “off” about Obama’s first hours/days in office. His staff on Airforce one gushed, “He’s ready to rule!” and she felt special because she was there, helping the new “king.”
And there was his, “I won,” like that proclamation would overrule all others forever. Nancy Pelosi not even pretending to care what people thought when she talked down to the voters like naughty children saying, “We have to sign the bill before you can see it!” She was intoxicated with power carrying the symbolic gavel of the speaker of the house. It was over-the-top delirium of power and now I realize it was because they thought we the people had been captured completely at last, and now we were to be inexorably eased into donning the yoke and harness.
They acted like conquerors and were peeved when we didn’t seem to know we were conquered.
They did believe they were sufficiently over the threshold safely into monarchy (dictatorship). Obama’s indignation when questioned was that of a matchless monarch. They just rushed it. Fortunately, our military had far more discipline!
