Fast food company Burger King Russia has been forced to apologize after an advertisement offered Russian women the chance to win $47,000 and free Whoppers for life if they got impregnated by a World Cup player.
The short-lived campaign was promoted in Russia on Tuesday via social media platform VK -- Russia's equivalent of Facebook -- before being pulled down after a flurry of angry responses from the public. Burger King Russia then released an apology on VK, saying they had removed all materials related to the campaign as it was 'insulting."

You got this from CNN and MSNBC? It must be fake news, then.

Is there a closet of bad ideas where these things come from?
I have to admit it is creative in a very weird sort of way.

That’s my question for sure.
That is priceless.
Years ago an operational planner explained to me that the USSR was a third world country with a first class military. So it doesn’t surprise me that this would come out of Russia.

Bringing new meaning to “The Whopper.”
Nice buns.
Where’s the beef.
Hold the pickle.
What exactly is in the special sauce?

Ironically, MacDonald’s special sauce is pretty much Russian dressing. Or un-dressing as the case may be.

Father Sergei is of Don Cossack heritage, meaning he descends from the warrior clans who once defended Russias borders. He espouses a muscular version of Christianity, organising classes in Cossack culture and regular military training for the young people who attend his church. At one recent summer school, children eagerly undertook lessons in minesweeping, weapons handling and hand-to-hand combat. They may have some practical application: in Rostov-on-Don, the fighting in Ukraine is close enough to be occasionally audible.Sounds like a fun church. I would have loved this when I was a kid as it would have kept me happily in church.
So much for "turn the other cheek" with these Cossacks.

Back in Oklahoma, I was ready to sign my sons up for “IDF Commando Day Camp” at the Jewish Community Center, but we moved, instead.
