A former White House staffer who served under President Obama was swarmed by six police officers while moving into his New York apartment after a neighbor reported a burglary in progress.
Darren Martin, who works for the citys Department of Social Services, tweeted the entire ordeal on Friday night, along with a video of his interaction with the officers. Cant go nowhere without the cops following me. You know how it is, Martin says in the footage. At one point, a 911 dispatcher is heard over the radio saying that Somebody was trying to break in the door with a possible weapon.

Yep. This has happened to white people too. It’s not the race. It’s the time of day.
Anytime I’ve moved, we made sure we were stopped and quiet by 10PM at the latest.
Pick it back up again in the morning.
Exactly. The guy tweeted up a storm complaining about racism. I guess he missed the point that rules apply to him to and are not suspended because “life happens” and that he’s black.
Quite a few people today believe they are entitled to do whatever they feel like anytime they want no matter the hour and everyone else just has to “deal with it”.
But.. disturb him all night and he’ll rage scream about supposed harassment and racism in keeping him up all night.
With any luck, this guy will be burglarized in a couple months and no one will call the cops.
“Oh, yeah, we saw the whole thing. [shrug] Figured you were moving again. Never occurred to me to call the police.”
Bump!
May he be burglarized by popobawa. (Websearch it, I dares ya.)
Yeah, but it is much worse when you are black. You gotta do all the white folks do but you also gotta carry that huge chip around on your shoulder all the time. It is a terrible burden to bear. Not only that you gotta always press the limits of decency and respect for others to test their racism and all that jazz.
Justice!
It happened to me when the movers got lost and showed up after dark. The police came over a few minutes later to verify everything was OK. I’m happy they did.
I had the cops called on me one time when I was moving. I was moving into a friends house. The neighbors didn’t know of the arrangements, and they saw me with the garage open and a truck.
They did the right thing. They called the cops.
I guess I was too dumb to realize I was being reverse racially profiled because of my whiteness.
The guy’s a fool, just like Skippy Gates. Proper way to deal with cops in a situation like this is to greet them, be polite, provide identification, and thank them for their concern. If I came home late at night and they stopped by to check things out, that’s what I’d do and we’d probably become friends.
And please remember that the police only have the caller’s information to go on until they can sort it out. Not everything is “racism.”
This is obviously because of the racist atmosphere caused by Trump supporters. It’s even ruining the progressivism of New York, it’s gotten so bad.

If this were an article about a former Trump staffer it would have cited the amount of money the police visit cost the tax payers, and how inconsiderate the man was. And it would include the phrases “may have broken the law” and “Trump stonewalling” for refusing to answer questions on the matter.
It would be followed by Democrat senators and representatives calling for a “full investigation”. And McCain would chime in to let us all know he is so brave he will not let his ill health keep him from denouncing the president on the matter.
Any moment now I expect to be hearing from Professor Obama to lecture us on our racism.
Heh heh heh
Every apartment I have lived in did not allow moving at 11pm at night, FWIW.
Hello, is this the Sheriff’s Office?’
‘Yes What can I do for you?’
‘I’m calling to report ‘bout my new neighbor ....He’s hidin’ marijuana inside his movin’ boxes! Don’t quite know how much he has , but he’s hidin’ it there, I heard him talkin’ on his cell phone.’
‘Thank you very much for the call, sir.’
That evening, the Sheriff’s Deputies descend on house. They search the place where the all the boxes are. Using box cutters, they bust open every box and haul all the boxes from the moving van into the house and open them too, but they find no marijuana. They help arrange all the belongings and furniture as a consolation, apologize, and leave.
Shortly, the door bell rings .
‘Howdy neighbor! My name is Floyd....Did the Sheriff come?’
‘Yeah!’
‘Did they you finish up moving and unpacking?’
‘Why yes they did!’
‘Welcome to the neighborhood, buddy!’
Having the cops called on you while moving in at 11PM is not so much a bias case of moving while black as it is of moving while stupid. Figures he was a former Obama staffer.
