This Strange, Wooden Idol Is Twice as Old as Egyptian Pyramids
Popular Mechanics ^ | April 28, 2018 | Laura Yan

Scientists discovered a strange, tall, humanoid wooden figure under four meters of peat in a Russian bog. The figure, dubbed the Shirgir Idol (after the bog where it was found), is more than twice as old as the Egyptian pyramids.

Gold miners stumbled upon pieces of the wooden figure in 1894. 100 years later, radiocarbon dating helped researchers trace the sculpture back some 9,900 years, which made it the oldest monumental sculpture in the world. The most recent analysis of the idol, published in Antiquity journal, pegged the figure at about 11,500 years old.

Parallel ridges, about 25-40 feet high, separating the “tracks”, which have greenery in the bottoms; 1-1.5 miles, mostly 1.2, from crest to crest. Mainly Vee shaped, rather than flat bottomed.

I used Google Earth Pro, which has continuous surface altitude readout as I scroll; and the ruler function enabled. Seems more natural topo than man made. YMMV

"...more than twice as old as the Egyptian pyramids."

That's only if you accept mainstream academia's dating of the pyramids.

Egyptologists have asserted for a hundred and fifty years, that the dynastic Egyptians built all of the megalithic structures in that country, but there's never been a shred of hard evidence to support that claim.

On the contrary, all of the hard evidence that exists, points to those structures having been erected by a much older, unknown pre-dynastic culture.

There are radiometric methods that work with stone.

You're probably already aware of this, but Stonehenge was recently dated using a new process that can show when a stone was quarried. The test results yielded a quarry date of 20,000 years old.

Wasn’t most of England under ice 20,000 years ago?

"How old are the pyramids?"

They really don't know. They're probably much older than the 4th dynasty. I could write a book on why they're much older but many others already have. I recommend "Pyramid Quest" by Robert Schoch.

2500 BC for the Great Pyramid, there’s not even any credible question about it. It was built as a tomb for Khufu, who also had many of his family members buried nearby. If memory serves, his mother’s tomb was robbed one night while the Great Pyramid was under construction.

The architect’s name was Hemiunu, and his tomb is nearby, also on the Giza plateau.

One of the early scientific Egyptologists recorded what remained of wall painting inside the Great Pyramid, the surviving text referred to such and such Year of the Cattle Drive from the reign of Khufu. It is now long gone, and there’s no conspiracy to keep anyone from finding out the “truth” about the “real” age of the pyramid.

The Sphinx is another story of course — for *that* see the work on that subject that was done by the late John Anthony West, and by geologist Robert Schoch. The video they made years ago has been uploaded a number of times, both with and without the ridiculous segment by Richard Hoagland.

I heard about the stone dating method on a recent Robert Bauval video.

He’s the guy who discovered the astronomical alignments of the Giza pyramids in the early nineties. If I catch the video again, I’ll note down the name of the technique and shoot you some information about it.

Possibly, but I'm not making any claims as to the validity of that stone testing method. It's just data I recently ran across.

"Wasn’t most of England under ice 20,000 years ago?"

Yes, the northern half. There are areas still 'rebounding' (rising) from the removal of the weight of the ice.
