Guess autopilot cannot read.
Was Autopilot drunk or high ?
Blame the cyclist. We're easy targets...
So if the car is on autopilot and crashes, does the “driver” still get a ticket or charges? Can you see the upcoming court cases over this crap?
“auto pilot” or “cruise control”. Slight difference between the two.
Tesla now has driver-less cars? Or was this a prototype like the Google cars? What on earth was it doing on the 405? Sounds like a suicide mission. Also article doesn’t mention if the person in the Tesla was injured. Hard to imagine a 65mph impact to the rear of a fire engine and you’d walk out alive.
It’s a good thing a mom and her two kids didn’t come between Elon Musk’s beta test and the fire engine. Next time it might.
Bombs with wheels, supplied by Capitalism, and enabled by a globalist government.
When it happens, it will be used as an excuse to tighten restrictions on cars with human drivers.
Robotic big rigs are reportedly coming soon. Beware those.
What is this? Why in hell do we need “driverless” cars? If you need to get from “here to there” and don’t have a car, get a taxi. I don’t understand the “infatuation” with this. It is a stupid idea, almost an oxymoron.
The sentient Tesla vehicle sensed that its battery was about to burst into flames and headed straight for the closest resource that could save its life.
Last Tesla I saw was parked by the side of a highway near here for a couple days. Maybe it ran out of volts and the driver had to walk to the nearest volt station for a can...
They are not driverless. That is a marketing lie. The manufacturer tells you that there must be a licensed driver in the driver’s seat who must be ready to take over at any time. That is not driverless.
There is no way to stop this stupidity. They are not going to listen to us. The manufacturers are going to woo the politicians who see in it another way to control the public and to gather data that they can use to tax the hell out of the public.
Some design engineer screwed up royally.
Was the car in communication with the satellite at that time? In other words, was the car texting at the time of the accident?

There has to be video black box in these things while they are being tested.
Like in airlines.
Watch a Tesla on autopilot rear-end a stopped vehicle that a human-driven car has no trouble avoiding:

65 on the 405? Fake news.
