About 25 years ago, on one of my trips to Mexico, I happened to see the place where the Shah, dying of cancer, had fled. >

The Shah passed away more than 35 years ago.

Either last night or this morning, one of the two commie cables predictably showed a vast crowd in the streets protesting the prior crowd demonstrating against the regime....and in support of same.

Could have been a crowd organized by the regime itself....actually, it probably was.

Yes, he had - this was a suite in a luxury resort which at that point was being renovated. I was there because they had a very nice restaurant and then after dinner I went out to the garden with another guest and we were walking around the grounds. We started talking to one of the hotel employees and he asked us if we wanted to see where the Shah had stayed (some years earlier). It was still decorated the same, and apparently had been rented to other guests after his stay there, but at that point the whole wing or set of “cottages” (I don’t recall which) was being redone.

It was very sad, really, to think how badly the Shah, a firm US ally, had been treated.

A lot of naïve folks believed that Khomeini wasn’t interested in power, just in overthrowing the Shah, but once he got back to Iran, he showed his true colors.

The very same thing happened with Castro in Cuba.

These folks in Tehran are chanting, "Death to Khamenei."

How long until the US media starts telling their viewers/readers that this translates in to English as "Death to Trump!"

I remember a pic of Obama eating a green ice-cream cone during the last (green revolution) uprising.

I see that pic of Obama with the ice cream, and I think of the Eddie Murphy routine....

“You don’t have no ice cream!
You didn’t get none! You didn’t get none!
‘cos you are on the welfare, you can’t afford it.
You can’t afford it, and your father is an alcoholic!”

If you care to, another couple Twitter users posting interesting things on Iran are:
@RitaPanahi
@Imamofpeace

Or just do a search for #iranprotests and see all sorts of different, up-to-the-minute observations. I use translate.google.com for the many Arabic and Farsi/Persian language tweets.

(I’m not a Twitter user, but you can view everything without having to log in)

BenLurkin - thanks for posting the picture. I’m not able to post pics. For those that can, the lady’s name was Neda Agha-Soltan. You can probably find her story on the webs.

In 2009, during the the unsuccessful Green Revolution, Neda was shot in the chest by IRGC. She was stoic and calmly died while the others were trying to stop the bleeding. I think she really didn’t know what had happened. It was all caught on camera and should have been the impetus for the downfall of the whole government. So young, and so brave she was.

At the time, our mullah-butt-snorkeling, communist, pole-smoking commie of a pResident we had supported the regime instead of the people.

I think it will be different this time.

MAGA- MEGA !!

Kit.

If the protestors rise to 2009 levels, they will expect a different reaction from America in 2018. I don't know what we can do, but with President Trump we can be assured we won't ignore it as his predecessor did.

A DUmmie was saying the protesters are basically protesting Trump, because he has undermined Obama’s Iran deal and the Iranian people are pissed.

I for one found the pictures of Obama eating a pistachio ice cream cone during the 2009 demonstrations upsetting. Today California grows pistachios, but we all know where they came from originally, right?

Read many an article saying the poor Iranian people are coming to Christ because they see the garbage of islam and al-lalalalala.

I don't trust them because of taqiyya.

I do not challenge the heart of someone who says they Believe in the LORD Jesus Christ. THAT is WAY above my paygrade. THAT is for the LORD to determine. Our job is just to SHARE the Gospel of Grace (found at 1st Corinthians 15: verses 1-4). We just tell them. The Holy Spirit convicts their hearts. No, I will not question a person's heart. BUT, you can come to an opinion IF that person has truly made the conversion. I believe you do that by the person's life before and after they say they believe. You cannot truly believe and REMAIN THE SAME PERSON (not yelling just emphasis). You truly have to have a Life Style Change. If you were a drinker, chased the guys or gals, used drugs, cursed to the lower tiers of hell, cheated, hung out at the bars, etc. type activities, then if you do not stop that stuff and clean up your life, then I would in my own mind question that person's true beliefs. I can guarantee you this, IF you truly believe, you WILL change.

I first walked the aisle of my church when I was 15 or so. I never missed church. I went with my Grandmother, solid Bible thumping Southern Baptist. She died at 99 1/2 years old. She never missed church. Sick, hurt, whatever the weather, that Lady was there. My family was unchurched as we call those families who do not go to church at all, do not believe. But, my Grandmother told my Mom, that boy is going with me, have him ready Sunday morning. So, from about age 6 or 7, I went with her EVERY Sunday. I once had a 9 year in a row record of not missing a Sunday morning or evening with her, my aunt, and three cousins. But, when I went into the Army for all those years, I fell away from church. Military chapel IS NOT church. I once, for 16 months or so, in Germany had a Jewish Rabbi doing our Sunday morning services. Kind of hard having a guy who does not believe Jesus is who He said He was, trying to tell us about coming to a saving grace of Jesus Christ!!! And, I believe there are far, far more Catholic priests in the Army Chaplain's Corps. They teach a far different belief system than Baptists, Methodists, etc. So I slipped further and further away. Then when I retired from the Army, I settled in Bremerton, WA. I lived in Kitsap County. Kitsap has a population of around 250-300,000 people. They had five churches that I could find. One was the Catholic church, four were so-called undenominational churches. Not with an affiliation. It was not until my wife retired and we came back home to Alabama, did we finally start back to church. My wife was saved, left being a Catholic and into the Southern Baptist faith. I rededicated my life to Christ, we found a solid church, and it has been wonderful ever since. We actually have about half the money we had when we were working, but it goes further, we have only our house and car to pay, we have money left over to give to needy people, places, food banks, the Children's Hospital in Memphis, give our tithe, and we have a wonderful life.

So, those who say it makes no difference in their lives if they believe or not, I beg, seriously and vigorously, that oh yes it does. Life in Christ is Eternal Life in Him. I believe that with ever fiber of my heart and soul. So, sorry for the long rant. It just all spilled out. Have a great New Year's. Stay sober. Time with your fam. Enjoy the ball games today, I'm watching Premier League Soccer right now, and enjoy the games tomorrow (if you watch that stuff, I only watch soccer now. Had my fill of US pro leagues, except a little baseball when I am bored). Retired Army
