Nice gesture from the eldest son of LaVar Ball for his parents. Whatever else can be said about LaVar Ball, he seems to have raised kids who love him.

Five years after he retires he’ll be on the streets.

His eventual kids from 5 baby mammas will grow up in poverty with a few trinkets from his glory days. Forgotten by the next generation.

Poor people are poor even when temporarily rich.

Sorry....sounds like a publicity stunt to me.I'd be much more impressed if he bought his parents a $40,000 car and paid $310,000 toward their mortgage (if they have one) or put the $310K toward a house for them or improvements on the one they might now have.

And if he did all that quietly.

*Real* charity is done quietly...not like this or like Mark Zuckerberg announcing a one billion dollar donation to some transgender surgery clinic.

A gift that requires a publicity agent for a dad whose very name sounds like a bathroom fixture.

Good for him (assuming his parents actually wanted a Rolls-Royce). He can certainly afford it. I do hope he is setting aside sufficient funds to take care of him and his family once he is finished playing basketball.

I wonder what the insurance policy runs on a $350,000 car? I’m guessing LaVar and his wife will have to shell out about $15,000 a year for the car to be street legal with coverage.

The Balls will be living in a dumpster, railing at White racism a month after he leaves the game.

IMHO....Make that a $350K Home, or a $350K retirement fund, and it makes sense. A $350K car merely shouts _______ rich. Kind of sad, too. It means nobody on that street has learned much of anything.

I worked for a commercial liquidation and auction company and in the mid-2000’s, we got the liquidation sale of some of Riddick Bowe’s assets including two Bentleys and a Roller. Although he was a financial moron, Riddick kept his cars in immaculate condition and they brought good money although the total net proceeds were well under Chrysler Financial’s debt. Them boys do love their luxury Brit shorts.

Idiotic gesture.

He should have put his money where his dad’s preaching is and funded a dozen academic, trade-school, scholarships with that.

Gross materialism during a Spiritual time, meant to honor God, is not a ‘Nice gesture’ to me,

If I had my way, legitimate news sources would be Ball-free Zones like they are Kardashian-free Zones. They live for attention so I think places like Free Republic should give then NONE.

Unfortunately, these parents have not taught their sons to save instead of to shop. They will have, at most, a ten year career playing in the NBA.
