Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball bought his parents a Rolls-Royce for Christmas, which Im pretty sure fulfills a Christmas wish LaVar Ball made when he and wife Tina had their first son 20 years ago.

Have to wonder who signed the bill? The agent or Lonzo? I kind of doubt Lonzo can spell much more than his name so maybe he did sign it, but agent did all the paperwork.
Working at the carwash!
Future bail money
If I won a billion dollars (tax free) in the lottery there's no way that I'd drive anything more than a $110K Mercedes S Class.Driving anything more would embarrass the hell out of me.
I worked for a commercial liquidation and auction company and in the mid-2000’s, we got the liquidation sale of some of Riddick Bowe’s assets including two Bentleys and a Roller. Although he was a financial moron, Riddick kept his cars in immaculate condition and they brought good money although the total net proceeds were well under Chrysler Financial’s debt. Them boys do love their luxury Brit shorts.
He will pay HALF of it in taxes. However, I would think he could still live OK of 25%.
Liability insurance is what’s required, and for that, it doesn’t matter the type of car.
Now, if he has collision and comprehensive coverage (only mandated if you have a loan on the car), that’s a whole different story.
Idiotic gesture.
He should have put his money where his dad’s preaching is and funded a dozen academic, trade-school, scholarships with that.
If you know any of “these people” you would understand that a nice car gives you a lot more street cred than a mortgage free house or any retirement fund.
However, I know that I'm not laying out 350K on one car that's not even for myself. Heck, yearly upkeep and insurance has got to be 30-40 grand!
What the heck, he's keeping a right fair number of people employed, at least for the moment. Who says "Trickle Down" doesn't work?
Maybe he is buying it with his tax break like Shaq and Charles Barkley.

I once asked a black colleague/friend why blacks in poor neighborhoods like to drive such nice cars. His answer:
"Cause when you go out, people don't know what a sheet hole you live in. But they sure do see what car you drive."
I’d have a few frame off restored jeeps and a 4wd truck or two plus some land to store and use them.
No flash, no bling.
Gross materialism during a Spiritual time, meant to honor God, is not a ‘Nice gesture’ to me,
If I had my way, legitimate news sources would be Ball-free Zones like they are Kardashian-free Zones. They live for attention so I think places like Free Republic should give then NONE.
Unfortunately, these parents have not taught their sons to save instead of to shop. They will have, at most, a ten year career playing in the NBA.
They will all be broke in ten years.
So would I.
But I have to admit, if I could afford to buy, restore and maintain it without endangering my finances, I would own a 1980s vintage Ferrari 308.
