The existence of UFOs has "proved beyond reasonable doubt", a former Pentagon official has said.
Luis Elizondo, the former head of a secret US government programme, believes that Earth may well have been visited by alien life via the unidentified aircraft and that there is also proof.
He resigned from the US Department of Defence in October to protest against the excessive secrecy and opposition to the programme he was in charge of.
Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph , he said: "In my opinion, if this was a court of law, we have reached the point of 'beyond reasonable doubt'. I hate to use the term UFO but that's what were looking at.
"I think it's pretty clear this is not us, and it's not anyone else, so one has to ask the question where they're from."
Mr Elizondo could not comment whether or not his team had examined UFO sightings as it was still classified information.
But he told the newspaper there had been "lots" of sightings.
He ran the Advanced Threat Identification Program, funded with £16.5million, from his office in the Pentagon.
The team identified movements and trends that were not like anything else "in the world".
They also discovered "hotspots" during their investigation, which were often near nuclear facilities and power plants.

Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it. Complete with not only explanations, but supposed 3D or hologram video, of who they claim Jesus was.
Well which is it? Beyond the shadow of a doubt or earth could have been visited?
They word could, negates the claim of beyond the shadow of a doubt.
"Aliens" are here, but they ain't extraterrestrials.
Yet, all that said, Luis Elizondo is speaking for the DOD.
They are going to start out with cagey language and get more specific over time.
We're talking about the gummit here.
“in my fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you so”
Actually this statement by Jesus was carefully chosen to comfort his disciples. It was part of a traditional Hebrew song/saying that the bridegroom gives to his bride when he comes to take her to his families home. At that time, it was the tradition that the bridegroom would build on a separate room to his father’s house for he and his bride to live in. He would not come for her until these preparations were complete.
Dave Hunt wondered if that would be a possibility also.
“Alien spaceships” would be a so-called “plausible explanation” to explain a pre-trib Rapture.
I can only call that speculation (my sentence above). I am not dogmatic about it in the least.
To make this believable you’re going to need a tinfoil hat powered by solar cells, as you tool around town in your electric driver-less car powered by the windmill on your front lawn.
I completely understand your skepticism. If I hadn't had personal experiences with this phenomenon, I'd find it hard to take on faith, as well.
That said, there's over half a century of solid eye witness testimony on record from military pilots, air traffic controllers, base personnel, astronauts, etc.
It's pretty unlikely they're all making it up.

Who knows, maybe some there too...
Lucky for you I ran across something on teh interwebs yesterday. Did you know there is an alt coin that isn’t treated as money? Same technology, but each coin is a unique kitty! No need to clean up after them.
Also, Burger King is releasing the Whoppercoin....get a Whoppercoin with purchase of a Whopper. They don’t know yet what they’re going to use them for, but possibly as returning customer bait.
Diversify your portfolio man, sell some of them bits, get a few kitties and a 10 pack of Whoppercoins.
You mean Riley Martin was right? O-Qua Tangin Wann!

That thinks “Vietnam” is two words as “Viet Nam”.
Don’t remember how to post graphics on FR. Can you clue me in, please?
“We never get beyond witness accounts and blurry photographs”
One of my hobbies is photography and it’s a challenge to get a good photo of a moving object, distant or close in bright sunlight with the right equipment and when one is expecting it.
It’s extremely difficult to impossible to get a good photograph of a moving and illuminated object at night when one is prepared. Imagine the challenge when one is least expecting it.
I posted on a FR thread earlier this year about my UFO experience of 45 years ago. Prior to that experience I thought that all those who claimed to have seen UFO’s to be either crazy or attention-seeking liars. I learned that people do indeed see things that are not the products of their imagination. The debate is over what they are.
All the more so when the craft have an inherent tech aspect that ionizes the craft surface, decreasing any sharpness in photographs when the craft are airborne or turned on.
