Pardon the vanity, but White Christmas is coming up on AMC in a few minutes. One of the best Christmas movies.
My husband grew up with a family tradition of watching that movie every Thanksgiving - and we still do. It marks the beginning of the Christmas season for us.
My kids are grown now but fond memories of hot chocolate, popcorn and "White Christmas."
Thank you!
Thanks
Sounds like a wonderful tradition. Very lucky for him and to have found you to help carry it on with him too!
Ditto that Thank you.
“hot chocolate, popcorn and “White Christmas.”
I vote for that!!!

That’s racist!
Watching now. Love that movie!
Also watching here after viewing “Miracle on 34th Street”. Unfortunately, “34th Street” was the colorized version rather than black & white. The only redeeming value of the color was Maureen O’Hara’s red hair. Still loved the movie, anyway.
Snow!
Possibly my favorite Christmas movie ever and my family had the same tradition. This is the movie that puts me in a real Christmas mood, mostly because of all the great memories it evokes from my childhood.
I didn’t know it before, but the Bing Crosby version of the song ‘White Christmas’ is the best-selling single recording in the world (sorry, for some reason the direct link isn’t working):

I don’t like them colorizing the old movies. Somehow it takes a lot of the magic away.
I don't doubt that one bit. Everybody ends up being away from home at one time or another during Christmas, especially in the military, and this song makes a connection.
I was sitting underground in a missile complex many years ago on Christmas Eve and turned the HF radio to VOA where they played Christmas music all day. This song came on sometime in the wee hours of the morning and made me homesick.
Wonderful movie. Too long when you add one minute of advertising to each two minutes of movie. I’d rather watch it on DVD.
The color in this movie is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.
I think it was a color movie from the start.
