Nowhere is the gendered double standard more apparent than in the Miss Universe competition.
While women in all industries face professional hurdles, pageants are one of the only workplaces where they are required to wear ball gowns while doing so. In this annual competition, women are expected to be gorgeous, intelligent, and poised; to look good in a bikini, ace a question-and-answer segment, represent their entire nation and walk perfectly in high heels. Meanwhile Steve Harvey, the reigning male host, automatically exceeds expectations if he manages to read out the correct winner (and was somehow rehired after f***ing up his one and only job).
How would you make it not sexist? Have male contestants? Wouldn’t they look cute prancing about with a silly-a$$ smile and saying how much they want to bring peace to the world, save the big fishes, and sing kumbaya.
Or should it be one of each of the LGBT gang? I hear they added some letters, so it’s LLGGBTTYDBSGRY#&H$^^^ or some such thing.
And this year’s winner, is a non-binary fluid dickless person who goes by the pronoun “zey” and uses the restroom of “zey’s” choice.
The suggestion might have been that only a very few women look good in bikini & high heels.
Where was that beach village in Italy with an ordinance that allowed women to go topless but ONLY if they met accepted standards for young female beauty? Local police did the judging.

What about the pageant s racism? I think Miss Mexico has a minimum height requirement of 5 foot 6, which leaves out the great majority of indio and mestizo women.
They really must stop forcing young women to enter beauty pageants at gunpoint.
Seriously, we must stop making women take on traditionally womans roles, like modeling for example. The horror that some women must still be models in our enlightened society...BTW, I was really pleased that South Africa won last night. Besides being drop dead gorgeous, she was a "don't be a victim" promoter. Gotta love a beautiful woman who throat punches her car jacking assailant and lives to inspire others not to be preyed upon.
