Study Reveals Men Become Boring at 39
Sky News ^ | Saturday, 9 September 2017

A new study has shown that most men reach their boring peak at almost 40 years of age, as this is when they have completed many of the things which people deem to be exciting tasks.

The research was carried out by home rental site Airbnb, who surveyed 2,000 people in the UK as part of an attempt to work out the optimum age for boredom and excitement.

According to their results, people are most likely to be be trekking across the desert, dancing on bar counters or taking up base jumping at the age of 27, and become more dull when they take on more responsibilities after entering their 30s.

Women, however, allegedly reach their optimum age of "boring" earlier than men, with the survey suggesting they become dull at just 35 years old.

According to those polled, things that make people fun include: Staying out until the early hours on a weekday, trying a new hobby, going out of the way to make a new friend, booking a spontaneous holiday, learning a new skill, visiting a friend unannounced, changing jobs, going on a spontaneous shopping trip, asking someone out on a date, and trying a new sport.

I retired from the Air Force the day before my 40th birthday and had just started my own company. I had two children, one just 1 year old.

Spontaneous vacations? I joined the military at 17. I don’t think they would have appreciated me calling in and saying I was heading out to Colorado for a spontaneous ski trip. Stay up all night? We had two children, both under the age of ten. Changing jobs? Never just changed jobs. Had great ones from the time I enlisted and also had to pay my bills. Having my own company was “exciting” enough.

I did do some crazy things when I was young and had the time but as a person gets older they accumulate responsibilities that preclude spontaneous things, and that seems to be the criteria for this so-called study, which was done by AirBNB. Not exactly a reliable supplier of scientific endeavors.

I did eight out of the ten in the past couple of months and I'm over 65.

As I have gotten older, exciting for me is far different.

The good thing is, as I get older, I am less inclined to give a crap if anyone likes or dislikes what I do. It is kind of liberating...:)

I love that idea! I’m always home most weekends. We farm, and unless it’s a family Wedding or a Funeral, we really don’t get out much.

Nor, do we CARE to! :)

Boring at 66?? Pfffttt!! I’ll have the author of the study interview my dental hygienist. He or she will learn I sling a mean floss and have my plaque under good control.

Very liberating. I think that is one of the best parts of getting older. Enjoying yourself more because we accept ourselves more. More confident in your own ideas and less likely to let yourself be manipulated.

"Back County" hiking...living over the edge there, FRiend.

Now if you live in San Bernardino County, "back county" carries some weight (it is larger than each of the nine smallest states, larger than the four smallest states combined, and larger than 70 sovereign nations!).

Fantastic!
We can plan on it then. We are already getting a few attendees. I find myself lurking on FR every Saturday night during my Svengoolie, etc. lineup.

“I am very boring spending saturday evening on some right wing chat site.”

There is no better social media site out there than FR. FR is the social media for smart, funny and well informed people and existed long before the retarded media of the 2000s came along.

Boring is the better word.

Ah, you are the one that was said to be a 70 something year old woman. The bitter is strong in you.
