I don’t believe in target practice and indirect threats.

“Israel seems to think Assad did it. They generally have pretty good intel.”

Yeah, because Israel is a neutral, unbiased observer in these matters and doesn’t have a vested interest in getting rid of Assad. If Israel says it’s true, it must be true because Israel never acts in its own self-interest does it?

Have you noticed how all the “bad guys” in the Muslim world the US seems determined to take out seem to be the secular ones? And the “good guys” seem to be the batshit crazy Sunnis who also hate people like Assad and Saddam?

Have you noticed that Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States and their Sunni creations ISIS never seem to have a problem with Israel, I mean a real problem, as opposed to talking about how much they hate Israel, I mean actually threatening Israel?

ISIS kills shiites, Christians and westerners but never seems to attack Israel, which is odd given that you would think Israel would be enemy number one.

Saudi Arabia seems to get along fine with Israel, the US supports Saudi Arabia, Saddam and Assad’s Syria were mortal enemies of Israel and the US feels the need to get rid of them.

I honestly don’t know what Israel’s game is in the clustermuck of Middle Eastern politics but I know one thing, the US shouldn’t simply base its foreign policy on whatever it is that Israel wants.

That’s okay.

That’s how we got Libya’s entire nuclear program turned over to us.

It's all the original FR Never-Trumpers. Some ended up voting for Trump but still take every perceived misstep as an opportunity to bash him, flail their arms above their heads and scream, "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" (or words to that effect.)

There is definitely some truth to those sentiments.

Patriots of good conscience can disagree over matter such as this, but there's no doubt that NeverTrump elements seize opportunities such as this in an attempt to undermine morale...

Oh, I didn’t realize Kushner, The Poodle Prince, had turned it into a dinner party.

Excuse me.

Assad has been moving weapons from Iran to Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon through Syria for decades.

Just now the U. S. took action for Israel after all these years. Ah..., not quite buying that line of reasoning.

I mentioned in my post, perhaps not the one your responding to that Israel has had recent bad blood with Syria.

It has had that bad blood for decades though.

I am not convinced the U. S. acted on behalf of Israel here.

The U. S. did not target Assad for convoys. They targeted him for a gas attack.

Who wouldn’t be thrilled to hear that the U.S. Border Patrol was using sarin gas along the Mexican border?

There is something seriously wrong with you!

Geez. Go to bed....sleep it off.

ANOTHER UNHINGED RESPONSE! Oh, and more language...love the “!” Just go ahead and use the “i” OK? But you would not want to get your comments deleted, so you attack with pseudo swearing...Going to ask me to pray?

You really show your lack of thinking, closed mindedness and intolerance...FR historically has been a place where people can disagree and debate without swearing and accusations of being antiTrump, etc.

I did not bitch...I merely replied to your to your unhinged responSe (just like this one) ...Asking people to pray after telling them to F-off if they dare to actually think, question, or disagree on an action...How dare us peons....OH and I asked some seeking questions, which I knew you would not be able to answer, but they were not posted for you...They were posted for thinking Freepers.

As I said, I am VERY secure in my “Trump loyalty Creds” and I am convinced I did a lot more than you and many of your critical friends here to help the Pres get elected. That enables me me to think and question, and perhaps disagree...

I don’t know if this was the smartest move Trump made...time will tell...but it is not wrong to question and no one needs to tell me or anyone else to “F you all” if we disagree, and as I said, that is not allowed on FR...Bet you were saying same thing to anyone opposing Ryancare bill too...

I did not say you are sinful...but can you please quote me the verse where Jesus told anyone to F-off and then asked them pray for things he wanted to happen LOL...

Go ahead, make my day and go for 3 with another immature, unhinged response.

Maybe I should have this thread pulled.

It looks like tonight's events were a staged TV production, not an actual military strike.

We do not need to be defending Muslims from other Muslims.
That’s not peace.
That’s not strength.
That’s them getting us to do their bidding for them in their 1000 year old religious civil war.

It has nothing to do with loyalty. Trump was still the better bet over Hillary. But it doesn’t mean we can’t disagree with him. It’s not like that. If you disagree with someone, even strongly, it doesn’t make you disloyal.

I don’t care if he used gas or he didn’t.
Either way, not our problem.

We need to get out of the MENA. This is ridiculous. Nothing good can come of fighting their wars for them.

Symbolic attack using the pretext of the chemical attack. And the real war goes on in Syria with our aircraft bombing targets in Syria every day for months and over 1,000 military personnel on the ground supporting the efforts to destroy ISIS.

I have no idea if this action was warranted or not. No one else here does either, it seems that there is not agreement on who exactly used the weapons or if the release of gas was an accident.

What not debatable is: bombing a sovereign counties military airfield is an act of war. I you doubt that recall how we reacted to a “demonstration of strength” by a small pacific nation back ~75 years ago. Not so calm.

Now you say that Assad would not be so stupid as to get into a war with us. If he has no other chance of survival, i.e. if he does nothing he is doomed, maybe that is not such a bad course for him. Who knows. We certainly have any number of nations that would like to see us taken down a peg or two and might want to support an effort to see us lose a foreign adventure. So lets say Assad bombs our 1000 troops in Syria or captures a bunch. What do we do then? What is Russia lines up behind Assad? Easy we drag in Turkey, they are strong, they can crush Assad/Russia in no time. Wonder what Iran will do if their remaining ally in the region is under such attack?

Or Russia responds by taking the Donbas/lower Ukraine up to the Dnieper river if there are Russian casualties.. What then? Do we enter a general war with Russia?, after all there are only 153 million of them. Oh wait, the nukes......and how will China respond?

We by bombing have put ourselves in the position of having given a desperate man (Assad) an open act of war. How he responds and what it will ultimately involve us in is anybody’s guess. WWI started with a small incident in June and did not blow up until August 1. I pray and hope Trump was justified and knows what he is doing. We will all have to wait and see.

How do you know that?
If Assad was gone it could be an even worse situation, like in Libya now, which is sending boatloads of refugees into Europe for 3 years now.
