Donald Trump slams Freedom Caucus on Twitter, says Democrats will ‘make a deal’
Global News ^ | March 27, 2017 | Kevin Nielsen

President Donald Trump continued to nurse a grudge against the Freedom Caucus as he lashed out against the ultra-right wing of the Republican Party on Twitter Monday, while also promising cooperation from the Democrats on health care.

Earlier Monday, White House spokesman Sean Spicer suggested Trump might turn to members of the Democratic Party to overhaul Obamacare and the U.S. president seconded that notion on Twitter Monday night.

Trump said the Freedom Caucus of the GOP, known as a particularly right-wing segment of Republican lawmakers, snatched “defeat from the jaws of victory” after Trump-backed health care legislation was pulled off the table on Friday in an embarrassing moment for the party.

The Rust Belt whites who voted Trump don’t give a DAMN about conservatism and RINOs. They want what Trump promised. A Wall. Repeal and Replace. Bring jobs back (that will force companies to reduce profits because they are paid more than Chinese). That’s what they care about, and that third item is absolutely NOT conservative. Neither are they.

Trump did not run as a conservative...Trump ran as an American, for America...While the FC is more conservative than the Ryanites, I do not believe they have the best interests of the middle class Americans at heart...Just look at the people and groups who fund them...Follow the money...

Trump IS reducing the size of the Fed gov't...Trump IS bringing jobs back to America...Trump IS cutting regulations...Trump DID start up the oil pipeline...Trump IS going after illegal aliens...Trump DID end the disastrous TPP...In just a short couple of months...

The groups that support the FC are big on immigration reform and we know what that means...They are also big on unfair trade like the TPP, WTO and NAFTA...

Trump said all during his campaign that no one would be left without healthcare (if they want it)...And he said the gov't will pay for it...We all know that...And we voted for him anyway...

Most in the FC want to eliminate Social Security and Medicare along with all social programs...Trump campaigned against those ideas...Trump is doing exactly as he said he would do...

Please explain Trump’s full throated support of Ryancare which was Obamacare with GOP ownership?

So, tell us what's in the Ryancare bill...They didn't bother to tell the rest of us...

“Trump ran as an American, for America”

Correct...yet somehow the Freedom Caucus members think that they alone elected Trump. They surely were a big reason he won North Carolina, but there is no other state that they can make that claim.

Trump won the election by winning Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania; all of them except for Florida, made possible by Reagan Democrats. And their real favorite candidate, Reverend Cruz, would have lost the election by 8:30, when Florida was called.

Trump has already done or started giving them 80% of their Christmas list. They, as a group have benefited more than any other, from Trump’s election.

Yet, here we are reading how President Trump lied to them and turned his back on them and is ignoring them. In American politics, I have never seen so few get so much and be so angry!!

Very nice post. I think the God’s choices are always ‘perfect’, because His definition of perfect is not the same as man’s.

If it were, David would have been disqualified, as well as most if not all others. Man sees sketchy family backgrounds, or lack of ‘experience’, or outward character weaknesses as immediate disqualifiers, but God looks upon the heart. Ergo, David was just right. The quintessential king.

We are told a number of times that David’s heart was perfect. Yet the man was imperfect. Well, to God he was perfect, so that’s whose definition counts. Unlike Saul who made lame excuses and tried to redefine the meaning of following instructions (1 Sam 15), David owned up to his mistakes, took the punishments, and got back on track. Pretty much what you describe. Imperfect by man’s standards though.

The account of Zacharias is pretty funny. Now God knew he was the right choice, but nonetheless... Zacharias was questioning the message because he and his wife were ‘too old for that.’

Say what? The nation was built upon Sarah who was 90 and Abraham who was 100, who were ‘too old for that’. Gabriel must have been shaking his head, lol.

Contemplating these things isn’t religion, it’s simply how things have always worked. Situational awareness. :)

In the end, it’s about governing. It’s exactly the same as other tactical truths, like “it doesn’t matter what your positions are if you lose.”

If you lose, the other guy’s positions become law and you are forgotten.

One can even go so far as to point out how much luck is involved. Someone runs a campaign and runs on this or that. Then the election turns out to be a WAVE election, sweeping not just that person in to office, but may also some other candidate from a neighboring state — in which that candidate ran precisely against what the first guy ran on.

THAT is how meaningless positions can be.

In the end, it’s about governing. Firebrands on both sides mostly are generating book sales and speaking fees. If you have a majority, you have to govern, and if you don’t govern, you won’t have a majority long.

Thanks for your nice response.

When you think about it, Zacharias was another Abraham wasn’t he.

How true...

I have never heard that and furthemore, the bill never had the conservative promises in it.

Not saying it is true, but my source on that was an interview with the Republican Congressman who "resigned from the Freedom Caucus"over the weekend. He said the caucus reneged on what was agreed to - in his view.

These accounts are always thought-provoking. The context indicates that Zacharias was *not* praying for a child (after all, he was incredulous, saying that he and Elisabeth were too old).

Yet, Gabriel told him that he had come in answer to his prayer. Well if he were praying for Elijah, it makes perfect sense. Gabriel even brings up Elijah.

Bottom line, prayers get answered in the weirdest ways from the strangest directions.

The demeaning arrogance from Obama at the 2011 correspondents dinner is instructive. Obama is the one who set the fall of the Establishment in motion. "What a maroon" as Bugs would say.

The political world is pretty dumb for not catching on to the system. "Trump", it's too funny. :)

It is always a pleasure to chat with you..

indeed brother FReeper.

the swamp thing is ok, but really, how do you drain a swamp that fights back?

but the other metaphor that comes to me is the “eye of the storm.” perhaps it’s useful.

the hurricane rages around you, it’s just shear power, but not well focused. thanks to help on the ground, you’ve been able to lift off in the eye, but now you’re flying blind, no way to even track the storm you’re in. you’ve got no real help from any one now but God to navigate out of the storm, much less through it. you have to stay in the eye and wait for the storm to spend itself, while you survive. but one critical mistake and you’re in the storm being ripped apart.

if you sit tight, follow the eye, and the storm dies down, you can perhaps communicate, at that point you take a risk and make a simple, uncomplicated run to beat it out of the storm. successful, you can reach your destination.

so far, Trump’s trying to do way too much flying by himself in the full power of the storm. overconfident, or spinning his wheels, he’s successfully flown in smaller storms before, but not this the mother of storms, it’s just too big to take head on.

he needs to let go and let God work. do simple things that minimize the storm’s effects on him. don’t try flying directly into it, yet.

or even a zen approach: he needs to become the storm. flow with it.

either way, head on is not good. taking shots to deliver shots, not good, either.

oh well, just my two cents.

Cruz and Trump got roughly the same number of votes in WS and MI in the primary. I think Trump got about 10K more.

What gave Trump a victory in those two swing states in the general election was a coalition of both conservatives and populists.

Cruz? How is he relevant to the matter? Well, nevermind, he’s not, no need to try to make something up.

The question is what is the base? The states that voted Romney voted Trump. That wasn’t enough.

The new votes were not conservative and they are all that matter, since the conservative votes are given and have nowhere else to go. It’s the Rust Belt whites who have somewhere else to go, and they’ve proven that — in 2008 and 2012.

You missed my point. I was pointing out to you that in Michigan and Wisconsin, there was a sizable conservative vote that voted for Trump in the general election.

The new votes were not conservative and they are all that matter.

No all votes matter in a coalition or else you will get old votes that turn away, and a loss in the next election, even in WI and MI.

Ryan and even Trump bad mouthing conservatives isn't going to work. Too many conservatives voters even in those two states identify with what the Freedom Caucus is for.

Okay, now you’re making reasonable points.

But you missed the Romney point. Those people have nowhere else to go.

I am loathe to quote the exit poll data, since they were proven wrong, but the usual quote is that 90% of Republicans voted Trump and 90% of Dems voted Clinton. There was nothing new in that. The Mike Lee type hard core right NeverTrumpers had nowhere else to go. The Bernie Sanders types who were outraged he had been backstabbed also had nowhere else to go.

The Libertarians and Greens were about the same % they always are.

The only new voters in the Rust Belt came out for his message of bring the jobs back, even if it’s less profit for the companies. And the Wall. And Repeal and Replace.

They didn’t come out for abortion. They didn’t come out for guns. The guys who care about that had already been coming out. They had nowhere else to go.

The amusing and interesting thing about Trump is he’s not a politician (which is how Hillary was beaten). He doesn’t realize tradition is you break your promises. He’s going out and trying to keep every one of them.

Repeal and Replace. Build the Wall. Bring jobs back, in a non-conservative way that costs companies money.

Impressive.

Trump has done very well. The only big problem he’s had has been Ryancare.

I think he’s doing okay. If he can salvage that problem item, he’d doing very good.

I like that he has clearly defined his/our enemies and explained what he’s going to do to render them powerless.

We didn’t get this way overnight. It will take some time. Trump is going about it the right way > IMO.

Great points. Nebuchadnezzer was left to live and scratch away in the fields with the wild beasts (RINOs?) "till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will."

Trump towers are nothing but Legos in the big scheme of things. I think DJT is sincere, but this is no Lego project, and he's not in charge.

Check Daniel 4 and compare to:

"T" is for "tree" (and Truth and Trump)

Daniel 4:10-11 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. 11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

No accident that his election was made official (and the Establishment brought down) on the Feast of Epiphany. There is a lot to the date besides that detail, so

I choose popcorn over panic. :)

I think Trump is doing the best he can. I also think he was wrong on Ryancare.

As for folks listening to God or not, it’s not always as easy as that. Only the very astute religious person will know what God truly wants, and even then they’ll make mistakes from time to time. We are not perfect. We will not get God’s true intent perfectly.

At times it will seem like we are doing right when we aren’t.

I don’t want the government involved with normal health care provision for the middle and upper class.

Those groups should purchase their own policies without government interference.

Different people will have different opinions on how that’s going to be done best.

I support folks doing things in accordance with our Constitution. While I think it would be wrong not to come at it from that angle, I don’t see it as an affront to God, a purely evil act.

Do I think it is evil? In a way I do, but I see it as more of a mistake than downright intentional evil. The government should not be involved here, and taking money from Peter to pay for Paul’s care is wrong.

I’m not sure I’d call on God here to put a guy down over it.

It is a bizarre and complicated process, especially obvious because the entire host of hell is after DJT.

That’s why I just have to observe what’s going on without the typical view that oh look, another one has been assimilated, or that it’s yet another case of meet the new boss same as the old boss.

The point about Nebuchadnezzar or any world leader, is that it is God who installs rulers or brings them down. As long as the President has that view all is well in spite of appearances. No perfection required.

However, if he should default to a faith in his own understanding, intellect, and will for success, that may have worked for his towers, but not for DC, where the hordes of hell all have their seats of authority from Satan, and they are livid that God made Donald Trump their chief executive.

The insanity of this Ryancare debacle is, I think, evidence of a major spiritual upheaval over who is truly in control of the narrative. It’s not the swamp or the President and therefore all sides have been thrown into confusion until they figure it out. :)

Dadfly nailed it: the President should just “let God work”.

That’s when the miracles will miraculously happen. The swamp is too evil for man alone to battle. Each vile creature is a Legion of demons. And that’s on a good day.

Before I retired, from a large corporation, my health insurance (for the best plan available), was $500/month, AFTER my company had paid their share. That was just for me, not my husband. If I had bought a comparable plan on the open market, it would have cost me $1500/month IF they would have sold me one, which they wouldn’t, because I have diabetes and high blood pressure (both well controlled). Plus, there would have been a pre-existing condition clause. I am in no way, in favor of obamacare, but there has to be some way to reduce the cost of health insurance, for middle class folks. The wealthy can afford to pay, the poor get Medicaid. But there is a huge group of people, who make a little more (to quite a bit more) than the level at which Medicaid will cover, who could absolutely NOT be able to afford insurance. If a couple makes over $24,600 per year, they are not eligible for assistance. With obamacare, states increased that amount, depending on the state. For the purpose of argument, without assistance, how would a couple with that income be able to afford insurance on the open market? And poverty guidelines add $6000/yr allowable income per eligible household member. People over these incomes are not eligible for housing assistance or food stamps, either. Now, $500/week take home income may not sound too bad to you. We’re talking about 2 people who make minimum wage, each working 40 hrs/week. But food, housing, car insurance, utilities, clothing, taxes, home insurance all adds up, most likely, to a lot more. Many people work 2 jobs. Are they going to be able to afford $3,000/month just for insurance? And there are people who make quite a bit more, but have a few kids, and their cost of living is a lot higher. Family plans are for two or more.
My point is not that we need national health care. My point is that insurance is too high. Period. Medications are too high. Opening up state lines, the panacea of many “experts” is NOT going to make insurance and drug companies less greedy. I keep hearing, “the costs will go down, just like car insurance costs have gone down, if we can buy across state lines!” Really? We have car insurance, as most of you do. Have your car insurance rates gone down dramatically, or enough to make a difference? Sure, you can find car insurance that is cheaper than the highest plans out there. But that doesn’t mean they’re AFFORDABLE. It just means they’re cheaper than others. If you leave it up to health insurance companies, they may lower their prices to be more competitive, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be affordable. Pharmaceuticals are now owned by just two or three corporations. They have NO incentive to lower prices. I believe in free enterprise and I believe in capitalism. But I do NOT believe insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies should be allowed to price gouge the way they do. The insurance and pharmaceutical lobbies spend many millions, to make sure our legislators do not pass ANY legislation that will prevent them from making obscene profits. Insurance commissions in every state, are there to protect the insurance companies, NOT us, believe it or not. Pharmaceutical companies run the FDA, and have for years. Neither one of these things should be the case. Until insurance and pharmaceutical companies are MADE to lower their prices, we will have massive amounts of people who cannot afford insurance. And decent insurance, if that, if I may make so bold. No, I don’t want a national health plan. But I want decent insurance to be made AFFORDABLE. Is that too much to ask?
